Mada: IOF assaults on journalists rude violation of freedom of expression

[ 09/11/2009 - 10:45 AM ]

NABLUS, (PIC)--

The Palestinian center for development and media freedoms "Mada" has condemned the Israeli occupation forces' (IOF) persistent assaults on journalists in violation of international laws and norms.

Mada, in a press release on Sunday, said that the IOF physical attacks on reporters represented a "rude" violation of the freedom of expression.

It charged that the IOF soldiers beat up those journalists because they want to publish the truth about the IOF violations of and aggression on the Palestinian people and land.

The center called for putting Israeli leaders and soldiers, who assault journalists, on trial, noting that the latest such attacks were against the cameramen of Reuters and AFP on Saturday in the village of Iraq Burin, south of Nablus city.
