Suicide blast sets U.S. vehicle ablaze in Falluja, 2 Iraqis Executed by Death Squads, 27 arrested May 7, 2009 Yaqen.net reported the following news: - Two bodies of Iraqis executed by death squads were found in Al-Yousufiya, south of Baghdad. - Six Iraqis suspected of resistance were arrested in Diala. - 3 US-recruited Sahwa fighters were injured in an attack north of Babil. Suicide blast sets U.S. vehicle ablaze in Falluja May 7, 2009 - 11:20:30 ANBAR / Aswat al-Iraq: A U.S. vehicle was completely burned in a car bomb explosion targeting a U.S. vehicle patrol in northern Falluja, a police source said. “A suicide bomber blew up a booby-trapped car near a U.S. vehicle patrol in al-Sajr region near the international highway, setting a U.S. vehicle ablaze,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. “U.S. forces cordoned off the whole region,” he added, giving no further details about possible casualties among the forces. Falluja is 45 km west of Baghdad, while Ramadi, the capital of Anbar, lies 110 km west of the Iraqi capital. SH (P)/SR 21 Iraqis suspected of resistance arrested in Basra May 7, 2009 - 11:06:37 BASRA / Aswat al-Iraq: Police forces arrested 21 men suspected of resistance during a security raid in separate areas of Basra on Thursday, the media office of the Basra police said. “Police forces waged security raids and searching campaigns in separate areas of Basra, where 21 wanted men were arrested and 37 unlicensed vehicles and 19 motorcycles were seized,” the office told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. “The police managed also to defuse a local-made bomb planted on the main street in al-Dour region in al-Zubair district in the west of Basra,” it added.
