11 Iraqis Killed, 39 Injured in 2 Baghdad Explosions 2nd blast in Baghdad kills, wounds 5 civilians May 6, 2009 - 10:09:50 One civilian was killed and four others were wounded in a second car bomb explosion in central Baghdad, a police source said on Wednesday. “A booby-trapped car, left by unknown gunmen in al-Nedal street in central Baghdad, went off, killing a civilian and injuring four,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. and vegetables market in southern Baghdad, killing 10 civilians and
injuring 38. A police source had said earlier that a car rigged with explosives went off on Wednesday morning (May 6) in al-Doura region in southern Baghdad, killing 10 and injuring 35. For his part, the spokesman for the Baghdad Operations’ Command, Qassem Atta, told Aswat al-Iraq news agency “the car bomb blast in al-Doura killed five civilians and injured 30.” “Iraqi security forces and bombs squad managed this morning to defuse another car bomb near the first explosion scene,” Atta added. “The terrorists tried to launch a double bombing to kill the largest number of civilians, but the bombs experts managed to defuse the other car without casualties,” he explained. He said that he will hold a press conference at 12:00pm in Baghdad to
