6 Palestinians Killed, Including 4 fighters Killed, 12 Injured in Clashes with Israeli Occupation Forces Besieging Gaza
Four resistance fighters killed in clash with IOF troops [ 08/06/2009 - 09:58 AM ] GAZA, (PIC)-- Four Palestinian resistance fighters were reportedly killed on Monday morning during a clash with an Israeli occupation forces' (IOF) unit east of Gaza city, local sources told PIC reporter. The sources said that 10 resistance fighters advanced toward the security fence east of Gaza city, some of whom on horseback, and engaged an IOF military jeep and tried to capture one of the soldiers but the IOF air force was summoned and fired missiles at the fighters killing four of them, whose bodies were maimed beyond recognition, and wounding others. The Hebrew radio said that the IOF soldiers killed four resistance fighters at least on Monday morning in the clash that took place near the Karni crossing, claiming that no casualties were sustained among the soldiers. Palestinian medical sources did not confirm the exact number of the martyrs but said that they might exceed four. Reliable sources told PIC reporter that preliminary information indicated that the group was affiliated with the "Army of Islam". They said that the fighters managed to approach the security fence making use of the morning fog and tried to infiltrate into 1948 occupied Palestine in a bid to capture IOF soldiers and opened fire at an IOF Golani patrol. The sources said that a violent exchange of fire ensued and a powerful sound of the explosion of an explosive device was heard, adding that IOF army choppers were summoned to assist in foiling the attack. Gaza man killed by ordinance while working in his land Sunday June 07, 2009 00:12 by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC & Agecnies Palestinian medical sources in the Gaza Strip reported Saturday afternoon that a Palestinian man was killed and another was injured when an ordinance detonated near them while working in their land in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip. The man, 50, apparently moved the ordinance accidentally while farming his land. It was detonated, killing him and wounding another. The Israeli occupation army stated that it is still unclear whether the ordinance was a shell fired by the army during the war, or an unexploded homemade shell fired by Palestinian fighters. After the war ended on January 18, several undetonated shells and explosives were found in different parts of the Gaza Strip. Three missiles fired by the Israeli army and a number of phosphorous shells were also located.
