Israeli Navy kidnaps four fishermen Tuesday June 23, 2009 00:15 by IMEMC News The Israeli Navy kidnapped on Monday four Palestinians fishermen, including two brothers, as they were fishing in Palestinian territorial waters in Gaza. The four were kidnapped when an Israeli Navy gunship attacked their fishing ship. The four were identified as Saddam Abdul-Bari, his Brother Odai, in addition to Hassan Ramadan and Mohammad Al-Noury Sultan. The four were forced into a navy ship and were taken to the Ashdod port. Local sources reported that the Israeli Navy obstructed two fishing boats in Al-Soudaniya area. The sources added that the soldiers beat the fishermen and confiscated their boats. The attack is among ongoing attacks carried out by the Israeli Navy against Palestinian fishermen as Israel is preventing them from fishing in Palestinian territorial water. The Israeli navy routinely harasses the Palestinian fishermen to block their fishing off the Gaza coast employing various means including shooting, intercepting boats, damaging fishing equipment and kidnapping fishermen. In the West Bank, Israeli occupation forces assaulted on Monday a 26-year-old Palestinian worker with their rifle butts, eyewitnesses said. They added that the laborer was hospitalized in view of the severe beating that did not spare his head along with other parts of his body. Dr. Saleh said that the soldiers severely beat her sons the lawyer Abdullah Musleh and Salah before kidnapping Salah, who is in his fourth academic year. She charged the IOF soldiers with savagely breaking into her family home and with confiscating her private papers and her personal mobile phone. Hamas MPs denounced the "painful incident", asserting that all attempts to dissuade the lawmakers from performing their duties would end up in failure and that they would continue to serve their people regardless of all obstacles.
