Islamic Jihad Calls for One-State, Not Two-State Solution
Batsh: Jihad refuses two-state solution [09/06/2009 - 05:18 PM ] GAZA, (PIC)-- Khaled Al-Batsh, one of the prominent Islamic Jihad leaders, has renewed his movement's rejection of the two-state solution, explaining that it was in the interest of Israel rather than the Palestinian people. Batesh in a press release on Tuesday said that Israel was interested in the two-state solution fearing that another settlement would lead to Palestinian dominance in the alternative one state solution. He said that Jihad does not accept the two-state solution because Israel in the first place is not a legitimate entity, adding that the problem is in the PA leadership and the Arab regimes, which accept and champion that solution. The Jihad leader pointed out that that the two-state solution gives the Palestinians 22% only of the historical lands of Palestine while leaving 78% for the "Zionists". The US is trying to beautify its image in the region through marketing the two-state solution and its peace prospects, Batesh concluded.
