5 Iraqis Killed, Scores Injured in Attacks in Various Cities

Yaqen.net reported the following news:

- A US minesweeper was damaged in an attack in Mosul.

- 4 Iraqi soldiers were killed, a fifth was injured by a car bomb near the Kurdistan Democratic Party building in Mosul.

- One Iraqi was killed, another was injured by  a bomb explosion east of Kut.

- Many attacks with bombs in various Iraqi cities, resulting in casualties.

Mosul car bomb kills 4, wounds 1

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq:

Four persons were killed and another was wounded in a car bomb blast that ripped through eastern Mosul city, according to an army source.

“A car bomb went off near the 14 th headquarters of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) in eastern Mosul,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

“The dead were three soldiers and an army officer,” the source explained. “A member of the Peshmerga forces was also wounded,” he added, providing no further details.

Mosul, the capital city of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.

3 cops wounded in Baghdad blast

BAGHDAD / Aswat al-Iraq:

Three policemen on Tuesday were wounded in a blast that occurred in downtown Baghdad, according to a security source.

“A roadside improvised explosive device (IED) went off near Uqba Bin Nafie Square in downtown Baghdad while a police patrol vehicle was passing the location,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency. “The explosion wounded three patrolmen, who were taken to a nearby hospital,” the source added.

3 civilians injured by bomb blast in Mosul

NINEWA / Aswat al-Iraq:

Three civilians were wounded in a bomb explosion in central Mosul, a police source said on Monday.

“An explosive charge went off in Halab street in central Mosul, injuring three civilians, including a woman,” the source told Aswat al-Iraq news agency.

He did not add further details.

Mosul, the capital of Ninewa, lies 405 km north of Baghdad.
