After Condy Rice, Ban Ki-Moon Humiliated by the Israeli War Criminals, UN Gaza Headquarters Bombed

ccun.org, January 15, 2008

After the humiliating position of the US Secretary of State, Condy Rice, found herself in, it's time for Ban Ki-Moon to be humilitated.

Aljazeera TV aired a piece of a speech given by the prime minister of the Israeli terrorist government, Ehud Olmert, in which he related proudly that he humiliated and embarrassed Condy Rice for her position in the UN Security Council.

Olmert said that he knew that Rice was going to vote for the UNSC resolution 1860, which would call for a ceasefire in Gaza. This would have meant that the US was calling on Israel to cease its terrorist war on Gaza.

Olmert was angry and called the White House to speak to President Bush. He was told that the President was away giving a speech but Olmert insisted to talk to him. When Bush took the call, Olmert told him to instruct Rice to change her position, as the US should not take a resolution that Israel does not want.

Of course, as usual and like all US presidents before him (except Eizenhower), he had no alternative but to obey the Israeli prime minister, and ordered Rice to change her position. She abstained instead of voting for the resolution, which has allowed the Israeli terrorists to keep killing and injuring thousands of Palestinian civilians.

Today was Ban Ki-Moon's day. He thought he could ask Israelis to stop their war crimes against the Palestinian people in Gaza. The Israeli terrorist government prime minister has rejected his call before he arrives in there.

IOTF troops shell UNRWA main headquarters in the Middle East

[ 15/01/2009 - 12:14 PM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

The Israeli occupation terrorist forces (IOTF) on Thursday shelled the UNRWA main headquarters in the Middle East located in Gaza city starting fires inside the premises and wounding three of its staffers.

Adnan Abu Hasna, the UNRWA spokesman in Gaza, said that many IOF projectiles slammed in UNRWA's main premises starting fires and inflicting big damage.

He noted that the damage affected the agency's stores of humanitarian supplies, and warned that the fire might reach the fuel stores, which would lead to a disaster due the fire brigades' inability to reach the place amidst the heavy IOF bombardment.

Abu Hasna said that UNRWA decided to halt its operations in Gaza in view of the seriousness of the situation. He denounced the continued targeting of UNRWA offices despite being known to the IOF.

The IOF troops have been trying since last night to advance into Tal Al-Hawa area in southern Gaza but were facing fierce resistance on the part of various Palestinian factions.

Field sources said that IOF tanks were advancing into the area amidst indiscriminate shelling at residential quarters, which led to tens of casualties and the displacement of hundreds of civilians.

IOF warplanes were also involved in the random bombing of the southern Gaza city suburbs in a failed attempt to occupy the city of 500,000 inhabitants.

UN chief meets Egyptian president for talks over Gaza

Wednesday January 14, 2009 15:22 by Ghassan Bannoura - IMEMC News

The UN Secretary General, Ban Ki-moon, met on Wednesday with President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt for talks regarding the Israeli attacks on Gaza.

Ban Ki-moon's visit to Egypt comes as part of a tour he is making in the region aimed at ending the Israeli attack on Gaza.

Ban Ki-moon arrived in the Egyptian capital Cairo at the start of a regional tour aimed at ending the Israel terrorist war on the Gaza Strip. The UN Secretary General will meet leaders in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon and Turkey during his tour.

UN sources say that Ban Ki-moon is expected to discuss the reconstruction in Gaza after the Israeli terrorist war ends, an effort the United Nations is expected to lead. The UN chief said that he would send an assessment team to determine the extent of the damage and of humanitarian needs following a ceasefire.

(The Palestinian death toll in Gaza has reached 1033 and 4850 injuries as a result of the 19-day long Israeli terrorist war on Gaza).

Meanwhile, Israel says that 10 soldiers and three civilians have been killed by Palestinian fire.

The Israeli offensive on the Gaza Strip continues despite diplomatic efforts and United Nations Security Council calling for an immediate, durable and fully respected ceasefire.

The Israeli government has rejected the call, describing it as unworkable. Acting Israeli terrorist government  Prime Minister, Ehud Olmert, said that Israel has never agreed to let an external body to decide for Israel what to do, and stressed that the Israeli military will continue its operations in the Gaza Strip.

On the other hand, Hamas said that the UNSC resolution does not meet Palestinian demands of ending the siege on the Gaza Strip and opening the border crossings.

UN resolution 1860, which passed last week with a majority of 14 votes, with the United States abstaining from voting, did not add to the Egyptian-French initiative calling for immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.

UN secretary-general says he won't meet with Hamas

Date: 14 / 01 / 2009  Time:  13:20
Bethlehem – Ma’an –

United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-Moon arrived in Cairo Wednesday for talks aiming to end the ongoing bloodshed in the Gaza Ship.

The stop in the Egyptian capital is the first step in a region-wide tour aimed at achieving a ceasefire, according to news reports and a joint press conference with the Egyptian president.

“I will urge Israel to stop its operations but I won’t be able to visit Gaza,” the secretary-general said, citing Israel’s closure policy on the besieged coastal strip. He also called on both sides to accept a recent UN Security Council resolution aimed at stemming the violence.

“I repeat my request for a viable, immediate ceasefire,” the UN leader said, adding that he hopes the Egyptian plan for a temporary calm “will yield results as soon as possible.”

He is not expected to have any direct communication with officials affiliated with Hamas.

“I tried to visit Gaza myself but the circumstances did not permit me to do that,” he said. But Ki-Moon said he plans to send a team to evaluate the situation there and report back.

The Gaza Strip has not enjoyed regular access to border crossings since 2007, when Israel began its blockade that many consider collective punishment on the Palestinian people for electing a Hamas-led government.

Ki-Moon concluded by saying he plans to meet with Israeli leaders and pressure them to stop the assault.
