Israel committed a crime by using phosphorus bombs against Gaza, says Turkish foreign minister Ahmed Davutoglu [ 10/12/2009 - 11:50 AM ] WASHINGTON, (PIC)-- Turkish foreign minister Ahmed Davutoglu has said that Israel's use of phosphorus bombs in its aggression on the unarmed Palestinian people in Gaza was not only a mistake but rather a heinous crime. Davutoglu said in a seminar in Washington on Tuesday that Turkey had criticized the Israeli occupation government for committing a "grave mistake" in its war on Gaza. He added that his country would not remain silent towards any crime committed in "our region", adding that Ankara would exert utmost efforts to spare the region fresh tensions or humanitarian tragedies. The Turkish chief diplomat said that he personally opposes the proliferation of nuclear arms, describing them as more devastating than the natural disasters. Neither Iran nor Israel should own nuclear weapons, he underlined, adding that the region should be void of nuclear weapons.
