Israeli Occupation Soldiers Install Earthmounds to Prevent Movement of Hebron Civilians, Kidnap Teenager in Nablus

Hebron: Soldiers install earthmounds preventing civilian movement

 Bethlehem - Ma’an -

Three earth mounds effectively halting all vehicle access to a cluster of south Hebron hills villages were constructed by Israeli soldiers Wednesday, observers with the Christian Peacemaker Teams said.

Wednesday afternoon five Israeli soldiers and a bulldozer created three earth mounds permanently damaging the road and totally blocking it from car or truck traffic. The road runs between the villages of Um Fagarah and the smaller Jinba. The work means the entire village of Kallet Adbea is now closed between two of the earth mounds

The closures effect at least 700 Palestinian residents in the area, and close off traffic to the nearby cities of Yatta and At-Tuwani where locals go to shop and access government health services as well as high schools and social services. Local farmers also sell goods in the town markets, and Palestinians who work in Israel travel the road, now blocked, to access the nearest checkpoint.
