Ahmed Al-Tibi says Lieberman is corrupt, stands by his statements against illegal Israeli settlements Tibi: "Lieberman is corrupt, I stand by my statements against settlements" Thursday August 06, 2009 12:00 by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC & Agencies Arab member of Knesset, Ahmed Al-Tibi, stated that the Israeli occupation government foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, is corrupt and is inciting against Arab members of Israeli Parliament (Knesset) and Arab leaders. Tibi added that he will not take back his statements on settlements in the occupied territories, as he stated during his speech at the Fat'h conference in Bethlehem, that the Palestinians need an independent, settlement-free, state. "I stand by my statements, Lieberman wants to divert the attention from himself as he is facing corruption charges", Tibi stated, "We do not fear him, and his threats" Furthermore, Tibi added that several right-wing leaders in Israel are demanding the Knesset to remove him for his post. He also said that in order for a two-state solution to survive and become a reality, all Israeli settlements in Palestinian teritories should be dismantled. "The best solution to the conflict is establishing an independent Palestinian state, and an Israeli, not Jewish, state", Tibi said, "But what is happening is that Israel wants a disarmed Palestinian state, a state surrounded by the Annexation Wall that already annexed 60% of the West Bank". It is worth mentioning that Lieberman stated on Wednesday that Ahmed Tibi is 'more dangerous than Hamas and the Islamic Jihad combined'. Also, Likud member of Knesset, Ofir Akunis, called on Knesset speaker, Reuven Rivlin, to sack Tibi from his post as a deputy speaker for the Knesset. Lieberman: MK Tibi more dangerous than Hamas, Islamic Jihad Thursday August 06, 2009 02:03 by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC & Agencies Israeli occupation government foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, who lives in an illegal Israeli settlement built illegally on Palestinian lands, stated Wednesday that Arab member of Knesset (MK) Ahmad Tibi, is more dangerous to Israel than the Islamic Resistance Movements of Hamas and Islamic Jihad. Lieberman, head of the extremist right wing Yisrael Beiteinu Party, former member of the terrorist Kach Movement which was outlawed by Israel, said that Tibi who heads the United Arab List at the Knesset, stated during the Fat'h conference in Bethlehem that the future Palestinian state should be empty of illegal Israeli settlers (like Lieberman). He added that Tibi also stated that the Israelis should get off Palestinian lands, and get out of Palestinian souls. Liebermans statements came during a visit to the Ghajar village, a Lebanese village occupied by Israel. The Foreign Minister said that Israels problem is not the Palestinians but it is Ahmad Tibi and others with the same ideology'. They pose more danger to Israel than the Islamic Jihad and Hamas combined, Lieberman claimed. Israeli online daily, Haaretz, reported that Likud member of Knesset, Ofir Akunis, called on Reuven Rivlin, Knesset speaker, to sack Tibi from his post as a deputy speaker for the Knesset. It is worth mentioning that several right-wing members of Knesset have called on the government to arrest Fat'h leaders participating at the Fat'h general conference in Bethlehem, and to question Arab members of Knesset and Arab officials who participated in the conference after receiving official invitations from the Palestinian President, Mahmoud Abbas. Furthermore, Michael Ben-Ari, right-wing member of Knesset, member of the National Union Party, demanded the Israeli Attorney-general, Menahim Mazuz, on Tuesday to issue arrest warrants against Fat'h officials and members participating in the Sixth Fat'h general conference in Bethlehem.
