Peace Now Organizes Anti-Settlement Protest Sunday, Israeli Occupation Forces Attack International Peace Activists in Wad Abul Rish

Peace Now: Sunday, protest against settlements Saturday August 15, 2009 00:22 by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC The Israeli Peace Now Movement published a press release calling for a protest against the ongoing illegal settlement activities in occupied East Jerusalem. The movement said that ‘Right-wing elements are mobilizing support for construction in East Jerusalem”, and that they are holding what was described as “a festive dinner for 100 people at the controversial site of Shepherd Hotel in Sheikh Jarrah”. One of the prominent guests invited by the fundamentalists is republican and former Arkansas Government Mike Hakabi, who comes to the country in support to the illegal settlement activities. Hakabi apparently plans to run for the presidency in the United States in 2012, Peace Now reported. Israeli NRG reported that a number of Israeli ministers and Knesset members will also be invited to the dinner. Peace Now called for a protest against settlements in East Jerusalem. The protest will be held on Sunday at 18:00 in front of Shepherd Hotel.
