RAMALLAH, BETHLEHEM, (PIC)--

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) abducted a total of 15 Palestinians, including a woman, since Thursday morning from various parts of the West Bank, according to local sources and Israeli radio.

Local sources said that IOF troops on Friday morning raided localities in the areas of Nablus, Ramallah and Qaqilya and abducted seven Palestinian residents, three of them from the village of Madama to the south of Nablus.

Meanwhile, Israeli radio reported that 7 "wanted" Palestinians were arrested on Thursday morning by IOF troops from the districts of Ramallah, al-Khalil and Bethlehem, and that those arrested were taken to interrogation centres, claiming that weapons and ammunition were found in one of the houses.

Furthermore, local sources said that IOF troops manning the Contir roadblock abducted a Palestinian woman on Thursday. No reasons were given by the IOF for the abduction of 24-year-old Ayeshah Abeyyat from Bethlehem, who is believed to have been taken to an interrogation centre.

Arrests of Palestinians suspected of opposing the occupation are usually carried out in coordination with Abbas's militia who are playing a role complementary to that of the occupation troops.

Illegal Israeli settlers erect new outpost as soldiers stand by

 Nablus – Ma’an –

Dozens of illegal Israeli settlers erected a new outpost near the village of Yanun, south of the West Bank city of Nablus, local observer Ghassan Daghlas said on Thursday.

Setters from the nearby parent settlement of Itimar arrived on the hilltop in SUVs and trucks, and erected at least six tents on Palestinian land, he said. They arrived at noon Thursday, and have been camping out on the area since.

Daghlas described the act as arbitrary and provocative, and warned of its consequences.

Last Friday at least 30 settlers set up a new outpost they called “Mitzpe Ami” near the West Bank settlement of Qedumin, southwest of Tulkarem, shortly before sundown Friday evening. Soldiers were sent to demolish the outpost but were recalled and told to wait until the end of the Jewish Sabbath.

Locals fear that if Israeli forces do not act soon, a similar hold on the evacuation of the aggressive right-wing settlers would be put in place, and that they would have time to bring more settlers and entrench themselves on the stolen land.

Head of the Yanun village council Rashed Murar said over the phone that there were several clusters of tents erected by settlers all over the western-area of the village, and that soldiers patrolling the area did not act to stop them.
