PCHR condemns Israeli humiliating crimes at checkpoints [ 11/08/2009 - 04:20 PM ] GAZA, (PIC)-- The Palestinian center for human rights (PCHR) has strongly condemned the Israeli occupation forces' (IOF) humiliating practices against the Palestinian people at roadblocks, saying that such crimes are considered a grave violation of human rights. A statement issued by the center said the IOF troops painfully beat Palestinian citizen Thaer Esa Jaradat, 20, east of Al-Khalil city, after they forced him to jump from an altitude of 4.5 meters after spotting him attempting to climb the apartheid separation wall near Al-Ram town, north of Jerusalem city. The PCHR said that Jaradat suffered fractures in his two legs after the jump before Israeli soldiers at the checkpoint ganged on and beat him. It added that although he couldn’t walk anymore, the Israeli soldiers forced Jaradat to stand up and unleashed a police dog to frighten and force him to stand but to no avail, prompting the soldiers to force him to crawl for 15 meters before handcuffing and leading him to a detention center. In another incident narrated by the PCHR two Palestinian citizens Mohammed Abdul Hai Al-Asafrah, 26, and Saleh Mohammed Al-Rajabi, both of Al-Khalil city, were also beaten up by Israeli soldiers manning two barriers in the city. They sustained wounds and bruises and were rushed to hospital for treatment.
