$300,000 in Compensation for Illegal Israeli Settlers for Vacating Settlements Built Illegally on Palestinian Land

Editor's Note:

It's amazing that illegal Israeli settlements have been funding directly and indirectly by US aid to the Israeli occupation government. It's more amazing that illegal settlers are going to be compensated (directly and indirectly by US tax payers) for leaving the settlements they built illegally on Palestinian lands. This could not have happened without sponsorship from the American politicians, who are controlled by the Israel Lobby.

Israeli MK suggests 1.1 million shekel compensation for settlers leaving West Bank

Bethlehem- Ma’an-

The Israeli occupation government cabinet in Sunday discussed the settler compensation bill proposed by Vice Premier Haim Ramon. The bill would see 1.1 million shekels (about 305,640 US dollars) given to each (illegal Israeli) setter who voluntarily relocates west of the Land-Grab, Apartheid Wall.

The bill also proposes that settlers willing to relocate to areas in the Negev or Galilee would be eligible for 15-25% more. Ramon reported that, according to his estimates, 18% of West Bank illegal Israeli settlers would be willing to “vacate their homes immediately,” for compensation.

"Vacating the (illegal Israeli settlers) is an inevitable step, considered by anyone who believes in the two-state solution, which is the majority of the Israeli public," an Israeli news source quoted Ramon as saying.

Debate on the issue centered on Ramon’s accusation that anyone unwilling to face up to the fact that the settlements east of the Land-Grab, Apartheid Wall will eventually be Palestinian territory, is forcing Israel to look at a “one-state for two people solution.”

Prime Minister Ehud Olmert is reported to be “concerned” about the growing talk about the “one-state solution.”
