Israeli occupation forces fire at Palestinian fishermen in Gaza, dig up corpses, and desecrate the Holy Qu'ran in the West Bank

Israeli occupation navy boats fire at Palestinian fishermen, wound one of them

[ 05/10/2008 - 06:38 PM ]

RAFAH, (PIC)--

A Palestinian fisherman was wounded Sunday morning when an Israel occupation navy boat opened fire at a group of fishermen on the Rafah seashore.

The PA ministry of agriculture stated that Muhammad al-Badrasawi (19 years) was moderately wounded in his foot when an Israeli occupation gunboat opened fire towards Palestinian fishing boats on the shore of Rafah.

Dr. Hasan Azzam, director of fisheries in the ministry of agriculture, said that the boats which were fired on were small rowing boats which are used for fishing just off the seashore.

Azzam also said that last week there was another serious attack on Palestinian fishermen when Israeli occupation gunboats opened fire at a fishing boat owned by Omar al-Habil while fishing off the Rafah shore leading to the boat breaking in the sea. The boat and those on board were only saved by the quick response of other Palestinian fishing boats in the area.

He also stressed that such attacks are a daily occurrence by which the occupation aims to discourage Palestinian fishermen from carrying on with their business and to deny them their sole source of income. The Israeli occupation has been gradually strangling the fishing industry in the Gaza Strip, first by decreasing the limits on Palestinian fishermen from 20 miles, to 12 miles and since 2006 to 6 miles. Daily Israeli invasions include digging up corpses, desecrating Qu'ran

Monday October 06, 2008 00:00 by Saed Bannoura - IMEMC News

According to eyewitness reports, recent Israeli occupation forces invasions have included soldiers digging up graves in Jenin, and desecrating copies of the Holy Qu'ran, by tearing it apart and throwing it in the toilet in several different cities.

Israeli occupation forces invade Palestinian towns and villages in the West Bank on a daily basis, allegedly in order to abduct Palestinians that they consider 'wanted' for various reasons. Often the 'tips' to the Israeli soldiers on who they should abduct come from Palestinian informants who give names of their personal enemies, or from Palestinian detainees under torture, who give their Israeli captors any names they can think of in order to stop the pain.

In recent weeks, Palestinian eyewitnesses have reported some particularly egregious behavior on the part of the invading Israeli occupation troops. In Jenin Saturday, eyewitnesses reported that a large contingent of Israeli soldiers invaded the Martyrs Cemetery and used bulldozers to dig up graves of deceased Palestinians.

And a new report from the Palestinian Center for the Defense of Captives' Rights detailed several instances of desecration of the Qu'ran by Israeli soldiers. In addition, the Center reported the deliberate humiliation of Palestinian detainees in front of their families, citing specifically the case of Ahmad Al-Alami, 19, in Hebron, in the southern West Bank.

Israeli occupation soldiers tear copies of Holy Quran in West Bank

[ 04/10/2008 - 01:23 AM ]

RAMALLAH, (PIC)--

The Ramallah-based Palestinian center for the defense of captives' rights said on Friday that the Israeli occupation soldiers tore copies of the holy Quran and threw them in toilets during a number of incursions in the West Bank over the past month.

According to the center's monthly report that was published on Friday, the Israeli occupation army was deliberately humiliating Palestinian detainees before their families with the aim to demoralize them, citing the case of Palestinian university student Ahamd Al-Alami, 19, in Al-Khalil city.

The report explained that the Israeli occupation soldiers raided home of Alami and tore copies of the holy Quran before wreaking havoc on the home as they threw a sonic bomb there with the aim to terrorize small children.

Moreover, the report revealed that the Israeli aggressions on Palestinian women noticeably increased last month as they stopped and arrested a number of Palestinian women at check points in the West Bank.

The center recorded 18 IOF incursions in the West Bank city of Al-Khalil (Hebron) where around 68 Palestinian citizens were arrested, 17 raids in Bethlehem city where another 40 Palestinian citizens were rounded up, 10 forays in Ramallah city, during which, 34 Palestinian citizens were apprehended, in addition to 118 Palestinian citizens seized in different Israeli raids on Nablus, Tulkarem, Jenin, Jericho, Qalqilia, and the occupied city of Jerusalem.
