Israeli troops shoot Palestinian man dead at checkpoint near Hebron

Israeli occupation soldiers shot a 28-year-old Palestinian man dead near a checkpoint south of the West Bank city of Hebron on Saturday, the Palestinian Liaison Office confirmed.

Khalil Ahmed Mohammed Al-Za'areer was killed. Israeli sources claimed that he attempted to stab an Israeli soldier before he was killed. Officials at the Liaison Office said they are coordinating with Israeli authorities to transfer Al-Za'areer's body to the Palestinians.

Local sources added that Israeli occupation forces searched Al-Za'areer's home in the village of Al-Samu'a, also south of Al-Khalil (Hebron).

Islamic Jihad fighter dies of wounds sustained two days ago in Rafah

The Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of the Islamic Jihad, reported that one of its fighters died on Friday evening of wounds sustained during an Israeli shelling that targeted Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, on Wednesday evening.

The Brigades stated that Usama Abdul-Majid Al-Hooby, 38, died of his wounds on Friday evening.

The Brigades added that the fighter was in charge of the engineering and weaponry unit in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

The Israeli air strike targeted Awad Al-Qeeq, one of the leaders of the Brigades. He was killed and several bystanders, including Al-Hooby, were wounded; two seriously.

The Brigades stated that it will continue its resistance until liberation and independence.

Fighter survives an Israeli assassination attempt in Gaza

Local sources reported that under-cover units of the Israeli occupation army infiltrated into Shaikh Radwan area in Gaza City on Friday evening and attempted to assassinate one of the leaders of Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the armed wing of the Leftist Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine.

The attack took place approximately at 6:45 PM on Friday evening when the Israeli undercover forces (death squads) attempted to assassinate Abdul-Basit Abdul-Hadi, but their undercover offensive was exposed and the fighters exchange fire with the invading forces.

The brigades added that it fighters managed to shot and injure three soldiers.

It is worth mentioning that Abdul-Hadi survived several  previous Israeli assassination attempts.

The Israeli occupation army did not comment on the report.
