who is an outspoken critic of the Israeli occupation, was denied entry
into Israel Friday, and banned from the country for ten years. Other Jewish critics of Israel, including Jamie Spector, Adam Shapiro, Starhawk, Kate and Raphael Bender, and others, have been deported by Israel over the last several years due to their criticism of th Israeli occupation government policies. IOG bars entry of American professor for supporting Palestinians [ 24/05/2008 - 09:13 AM ] OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)-- The Israeli occupation government (IOG) on Friday barred an American political science professor from entering the Hebrew state due to his support for Palestinian rights. Mousa Abu Hashash, a human rights activist who works in B'Tselem (the Israeli information center for human rights), said that the IOA detained Norman Gary Finkelstein, who is also an author, at the Ben Gurion airport and blocked his entry into Israel. Finkelstein, who was en route to Palestinian lands, was also handed an order not to enter Israel for ten years, Abu Hashash said. The American professor is known for his anti Israeli occupation stands and frequently visits Palestinian lands to express his support for Palestinian rights. Finkelstein delivered many lectures in various countries on the Palestine cause and is known for his anti Israeli occupation policy in the region.
