Israeli Occupation Forces Attack Peace Rallies, Kidnap Journalist and 11 Citizens, Terrorize Palestinian Cities

Israeli occupation forces forcibly disperse peaceful rally at Huwwara checkpoint

Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday forcibly dispersed a peaceful rally marking the sixtieth anniversary of the Palestinian catastrophe (Nakba) at the Huwwara checkpoint south of Nablus in the northern West Bank.

Dozens of Palestinians rallied from Balata refugee camp east of Nablus, heading to the Huwwara checkpoint, raising UN flags and calling for the UN to implement its own resolutions related to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

Israeli occupation soldiers hurled tear gas canisters and sound bombs at the demonstrators. Palestinian medics said that several protestors were slightly injured as a result of the sound bombs and inhaling tear gas.

Tayseer Nasrallah from the committee to mark the memory of the Nakba said the rally was meant to urge the UN to implement resolutions which the UN Security Council and General Assembly have previously passed on the Palestinian question especially resolution 194.

Israeli occupation forces kidnap journalist in Dura

Israeli occupation forces kidnapped 24-year-old journalist Hassan 'Awad Yunis Arjoub from his house in the town of Dura, west of Hebron on Wednesday.

Arjoub's father said that the Israeli occupation forces stormed their house at about 1.30 am and arrested his son.

Arjoub graduated from the Meida Department of Bir Zeit University. He has been working as a journalist for six months in the Arab Media Center in Dura and as a correspondent for Al-Hal newspaper as well as some other news websites including Sawt Al-Khali website which he directs.

The Arab Media Center condemned the arrest in addition to the kidnapping of other journalists.

The center also called on local and international human rights organizations and local and international press unions to work towards releasing Arjoub.

Israeli occupation forces kidnap nine Palestinians in Nablus

Israeli occupation forces kidnapped nine Palestinians from the city of Nablus, in the northern West Bank, after storming a number of houses on Wednesday morning.

Palestinian security forces told Ma'an that fifteen Israeli occupation military vehicles stormed the city, late on Tuesday night and raided a number of houses in several neighborhoods.

The sources confirmed the names of the detainees: 22-year-old Tha'er Nejem and Osayd Abu Hawwash, 24-year-old Tareq Taher, 28-year-old Marwan Ja'jaa' and Majdi Abu Yassin, 26-year-old Mohammed As-Sirssi, 20-year-old Mohammed 'Ata Me'yari and 25-year-old Hazem Affouri and Amjad Sbeih Abu Yassin.

Israeli Radio said that Israeli occupation forces had arrested twelve Palestinians from the West Bank, including ten from Nablus.

The West Bank: Israeli troops attack Palestinian peaceful protests marking the 60th Nakba

The Israeli occupation army attacked on Wednesday three Palestinian peaceful demonstrations in several parts of the West Bank, a number of injured was reported.

The protests took place near the northern West Bank cities of Tulkarem and Nablus in addition to one protest near Ramallah city, they were organized to mark the 60th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba – catastrophe.

At least 150 school children and teachers marched today from the city center of Tulkarem towards an Israeli industrial zone just out said the city. Upon arrival to the location Israeli occupation troops fired tear gas at the protesters, medical sources reported that a number of children surfed moderate injures due to the tear gas.

In the nearby city of Nablus in a similar protest, 200 Palestinians protested at the Howwara Israeli army checkpoint located outside the city, Israeli occupation troops used rifle buts, batons, and tear gas to attack the unarmed civilians; four were injured.

Among those injured were Ashraf Jaber, 22, a paramedic, Imad Al Terawi, 21, Ala Badarnah, a Palestinian photo-journalist, and Sameh Al-Sameri, 23. Al Sameri is physically challenged he was injured when troops fired tear gas at the protesters, witnesses said.

20 civilians were injured when Israeli troops attack a protest marking the 60th Nakba at the Qalndiya checkpoint, at the entrance of Ramallah city.

The protest started from Qalandiya refugee camp as soon as it reached the checkpoint soldiers fired tear gas and steal-rubber-coated- bullets, 20 civilians were injured, witnesses told media sources.

The Israeli occupation army kidnaps a Palestinian journalist from the city of Hebron

The Israeli occupation army kidnapped a Palestinian journalist during and attack targeting the village of Al Koum west of the southern West Bank city of Hebron on Wednesday morning.

Local sources reported that Israeli occupation troops and military vehicles invaded the village of Al Koum then searched the house of Hassan Al-Rujoub, 24, a journalist for a local university magazine. Soldiers then took Al-Rujoub to unknown location.

The Palestinian Journalists block condemned the attack and demanded the immediate release of Al Rujoub. With the kidnapping of Al-Rujoub the number of the Palestinian journalist being kidnapped by the Israeli army now stands at seven.

Two civilians kidnapped as Israeli troops attack Abu-Dis and Al-Ezaryiah near Jerusalem

Two Palestinian civilians were kidnapped during and Israeli army attack targeting the towns of Abu-Dis and Al Eziryiah located near Jerusalem city, two civilians were kidnapped.

Hanni Jaffal, 19, from Abu-Dis, and Jameel Halabah, 19, from Al-Ezaryiah, were released from Israeli detention camps just eight moths ago.

Witnesses said that troops searched a number of homes in the two towns before taking the two youth to unknown locations.

Also on Wednesday morning Israeli troops stopped the car of Mujahed Abu Roumi, 40, in Al-Ezaryiah town and took him and his son to the nearby settlement of Ma'alyih Adomem, there soldiers fined him with 500 NIS claming he was driving an illegal car.

The soldiers also gave Al-Roumi a military order for an interview with the security service office next week.

Local sources said Al-Roumi house and his brothers houses were attacked and searched by the Israeli army several times this week; his son was released a month ago after being detained by the Israeli army for some time.

Israeli occupation Soldiers, undercover forces invade two areas near Khan Younis

The Palestinian News Agency, WAFA, reported that Israeli soldiers and undercover forces invaded on Tuesday night after midnight two areas near Khan Younis city, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Eyewitnesses told WAFA that military bulldozers uprooted farmlands belonging to residents of Khuza’a village, east of Khan Younis.

The bulldozers were accompanied by nearly 25 tanks and armored vehicles. The uprooted lands were planted with almond and citrus trees, in addition to hothouses planted with tomatoes and other vegetables.

Undercover forces also infiltrated Al-Faraheen area, east of Khan Younis. Shortly afterwards, several tanks and armored vehicles invaded the area.

The residents fear further escalation as several tanks are armored vehicles were brought to areas close to the border.

On Tuesday, soldiers killed one fighter of the Al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of the Hamas and wounded three other residents in a shelling to Al Qarara town, near Khan Younis.
