Hamas calls for international investigation over US scheme to spark Palestinian civil war [ 05/03/2008 - 07:07 PM ] DAMASCUS, (PIC)-- Ezzat Al-Resheq, a member of the Hamas political bureau, called for opening an international investigation over the involvement of the American administration and PA leaders in a scheme to ignite a civil war in Gaza and the West Bank, pointing out that dozens of Palestinians in Gaza were killed at the initiation of this conspiracy. In an exclusive statement to the PIC, Resheq underlined that if Hamas had not moved to encircle this scheme in Gaza, thousands of Palestinians would have been killed at the hands of the Fatah-affiliated mutiny trend headed by America's man Mohamed Dahlan, adding that PA chief Mahmoud Abbas was aware of this scheme. The US-based Vanity Fair magazine had said that it obtained confidential documents from reliable American and PA officials revealing that there was a secret scheme endorsed by American president George Bush himself to spark inter-Palestinian civil war through strengthening Dahlan's security forces financially and militarily to eliminate Hamas after it won the elections democratically. The Hamas leader said in this regard that the Vanity Fair's report disclosed nothing new, but it confirmed what we always tried to explain to the international community about this scheme which was overseen by US security coordinator General Keith Dayton and implemented by America's men in the Palestinian arena.
