Azerbaijani Soldier, 14 Iraqis Killed in War
Attacks, According to June 28, 2008 News Reports

Editor's Note: Only God knows how many Iraqis are killed everyday.
The following represents part of the reporting but readers are advised
that the actual number of deaths should very much exceed what's
reported. Concerning deaths of US soldiers, only those US
citizens who die in Iraq are included in the statistics. There are no
published statistics about US soldiers who die of their injuries after
that. There are no published statistics about the deaths or injuries of
the private army soldiers (security contractors), or about those without
US citizenship. It is noteworthy that May 20, 2008 news reports showed
that death squads which execute Iraqis on daily basis are no longer
hiding themselves. Previously, Sunni leaders pointed to Mahdi Army and
Badr militiamen as the perpetrators. Now, death squads are composed of
the US-recruited Sahwa fighters and policemen (which is an opportunity
for US forces command to sever relations with these fighters). Despite the fact that there are scores of
organizations involved in the Iraq war, the Iraqi government officials
prefer to refer to them as Alqaeda gunmen for propaganda purposes, as
mentioned in the June 4, 2008 news report. For accuracy purposes, the
term "Alqaeda gunmen" may be replaced with "Iraqi fighters."============================
 Yaqen.net reported that an
Azerbaijani soldier was on attack near the
Hadeethah Dam. Azerbaijan is a former Soviet republic and the only
Muslim country which participate in the occupation of Iraq, in an
attempt by its dictator Haider Alieve to be closer to the NATO
		countries.

 - Two people were killed,
seven were injured as a result of a mortar attack on a Sahwa checkpoint
		in Al-'Adheem neighborhood, in Al-Khalis.

 - Two policemen were injured as a result of an attack on a police patrol
		in Mosul.

 - Three employees of Al-Rafidain
Bank were killed inside their car by US security contractors guarding
Baghdad airport. The victims were a man and two women were killed and
burned inside their car, which was completely burned.

 - Air borne US forces landed in the village of Tuwairij, the village of
the US-backed prime minister Al-Maliki, near Karbala, killed
		a man and arrested
		another.

 Amsi.org reported that
seven bodies of Iraqis were found in Samarra.

 - A body was found in the
area of Al-Nahrawan, south of Baghdad.

 Note:

The Voices of Iraq news agency did not report any attacks or deaths
today, as of 4:00 pm ET.

Since March, the US-backed Iraqi regime has been actively engaged in an

the Jaysh al-Mahdi militia, in Baghdad and southern Iraq, in what is
believed to be preparation for an American attack on Iran.

		members in Karbala’.

In a dispatch posted at 5:45pm Baghdad time Friday afternoon, the Yaqen

the local office of the Sadr Movement.

Al-Karbala’i said that the arrests were random and came as a surprise.
He demanded that the prisoners be released and called for calm and for
avoiding acts that could render the situation more critical.

Since March, the US-backed Iraqi regime has been actively engaged in an
