Palestinian Female MP, Mariam Saleh, Kidnapped by Israelis for Two Years, Denied Family Visits MP Saleh: IPA denies Gaza female prisoners family visits for two years [ 18/06/2008 - 09:50 AM ] RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- Palestinian lawmaker MP Dr. Mariam Saleh has accused the Israeli prisons authority (IPA) of denying family visits to Gaza female captives in Israeli jails for two years, warning that the captives lack proper medical attention while in jail. The PA legislator made these comments after her release from the Israeli occupation government Hasharon prison on Tuesday, noting that there are 76 Palestinian female detainees languishing in that infamous jail. Saleh was arbitrarily arrested at the hands of the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in December of last year, and she was placed under administrative detention for seven months after the Israeli occupation government failed to file charges against her. According to her, the Israeli intelligence officers had questioned her about her relation with the Hamas Movement, and on ways and means the Movement was using to fund itself. The lady lawmaker, furthermore, slammed the IPA for deliberately neglecting the captives, asserting that the jail detention cells were unfit for human beings, and lack ventilation that badly affected the health condition of the prisoners. She added that the IPA denied her family visits, and refused to allow her husband and children to see her since she was detained, adding that the captives had requested the jail administration to allow them family visits twice or once a month, but, she underlined, the IPA rejected the captives' request. Moreover, Saleh pointed out that the Palestinian internal rift had badly affected and disappointed the female captives, especially that most of the detainees were arrested on charges of resisting the occupation. However, Saleh said, the captives are of full conviction that they will be included in any future prisoner swap deal between the Palestinian resistance and the Israeli occupation government although they agreed that old prisoners and those who are serving long imprisonment terms have the priority to be released.
