9 Iraqis Killed in War Attacks, According to Initial July 5, 2008 News Reports Editor's Note: Only God knows how many Iraqis are killed everyday. The following represents part of the reporting but readers are advised that the actual number of deaths should very much exceed what's reported. Concerning deaths of US soldiers, only those US citizens who die in Iraq are included in the statistics. There are no published statistics about US soldiers who die of their injuries after that. There are no published statistics about the deaths or injuries of the private army soldiers (security contractors), or about those without US citizenship. It is noteworthy that May 20, 2008 news reports showed that death squads which execute Iraqis on daily basis are no longer hiding themselves. Previously, Sunni leaders pointed to Mahdi Army and Badr militiamen as the perpetrators. Now, death squads are composed of the US-recruited Sahwa fighters and policemen (which is an opportunity for US forces command to sever relations with these fighters). Despite the fact that there are scores of organizations involved in the Iraq war, the Iraqi government officials prefer to refer to them as Alqaeda gunmen for propaganda purposes, as mentioned in the June 4, 2008 news report. For accuracy purposes, the term "Alqaeda gunmen" may be replaced with "Iraqi fighters." ============================ Yaqen.net reported that an Iraqi army officer was killed and one of his guards was injured by fire from a group of gunmen in Al-Dilou'iya, Salahuddin Provinve. - 55 Israeli companies work in Iraq under pseudo names. - A body of a US-recruited Sahawa fighter was found in Al-Muwailha area in Al-Iskandariya, Babil Province. - General Command of the former Iraqi army announced in a statement four attacks on US forces during the last ten days of June. ===================== 2 policemen killed in Mosul attack Two policemen were killed
in an attack by two unidentified gunmen on a checkpoint in the
city of Mosul on Saturday, the U.S. army in Iraq said. "The two policemen's bodies were removed to al-Salam hospital in the city," the source said, giving no more details. Earlier on Saturday police said one civilian was killed and six others, including two policemen, wounded when a car bomb went off near a police patrol in northern Mosul. "The attack targeted the patrol at the area of al-Hai al-Ziraie,
northern Mosul. The explosion severely damaged a patrol vehicle," the
source, who declined to be named, told VOI. Three persons were killed and 15 others were injured in the acts of
violence that took place in different parts of Iraq from Friday evening
until Saturday noon, security sources said. In Anbar, a local police source said that an Iraqi Islamic Party (IIP) official was wounded when an explosive charge detonated near the party's headquarters in downtown Falluja city on Saturday. In northern Iraq, police sources said that security forces on Saturday found two unidentified bodies in Makhmour district.
