Paper Slams Britain for Siding with Israel
against Iran
July 26, 2008
TEHRAN (FNA)-
The British politicians who always call themselves Zionists have made
yet another attempt to pander to the Zionist regime and have once again
reiterated their malicious and inappropriate positions against Iran in
disregard to the worldwide stresses on Iran's right to gain nuclear
technology.
A commentary by Qasem Ghafuri published by Iranian newspaper Siyasat- e
Ruz on 22 July says that the move by London is in line with the policies
pursued by British Brime Minister Gordon Brown who seeks to curry favor
with Tel Aviv leaders just like Sarkozy and Bush.
In his first speech, the British prime minister who always considers
himself to be the savior and supporter of the Zionists addressed the
Knesset members saying that if Iran rejected the proposal by world
powers, it will face increasing isolation. In order to prove his good
services to the Zionists, Gordon Brown told the Knesset members, "At
present Iran has a clear option of either suspending its nuclear
programs and accepting the proposal for negotiations or face greater
isolation and the collective response of not only one country but
several countries."
Disregarding the world acknowledgement of Iran's nuclear rights, Brown
repeated the West's allegations about the military nature of Iran's
nuclear program and claimed, "As we promoted the actions related to the
three mandatory UN Security Council resolutions, Britain along with
America and the European Union will continue their efforts to stop
Iran's nuclear arms program."
In his attempt at putting the finishing touches to his good services to
the Zionists, Brown failed to make any reference to Tel Aviv's
widespread atrocities and the human catastrophe perpetrated in Gaza and
in his speech he went on to say, "We tell those who bring the existence
of Israel into question and threaten the lives of its citizens that the
people of Israel have the right to live here and to live in freedom and
security. Any time that your peace, stability and existence are
threatened, Britain will stand by Israel."
The claims are raised at a time when on Sunday the British parliament
officially acknowledged that the Zionists violated the rights of
Palestinians.
In the meantime, the British Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs
David Miliband has discussed Iran's nuclear program with a number of
Zionist rabbis from Britain, Israel, America and European Union. Iran's
nuclear issue and the commitment to the safeguarding of Israeli security
constituted the principal axis of the discussions. Miliband met with the
rabbis in the Locarno Hall of the British Foreign Office.
London leaders are currying favor with the Zionist at a time when 60 per
cent of the British people have expressed their dissatisfaction over
their country's relations with the Zionists and consider them to be the
cause of their misery. David Miliband claimed that Iran is seeking to
acquire nuclear weapons and stressed that Iran's efforts are
unacceptable since not only they endanger Israel's security but they
also threaten the security of the whole region.
This is while the Western world has never presented any corroborative
document to substantiate its allegations against Iran's nuclear drive.
Iran denies the charges and insists that its nuclear program is for
peaceful purposes only.
West's push for additional UN penalties and military action against Iran
contradicts the report by 16 US intelligence bodies that endorsed the
civilian nature of Iran's programs. Following the US National
Intelligence Estimate (NIE) and similar reports by the IAEA head - one
in November and the other one in February - which praised Iran's
truthfulness about key aspects of its past nuclear activities and
announced settlement of outstanding issues with Tehran, any effort to
impose further sanctions or launch military action against Iran seems to
be completely baseless and irrational.
The February report by the UN nuclear watchdog, the International Atomic
Energy Agency, praised Iran's cooperation in clearing up all of the past
questions over its nuclear program, vindicating Iran's nuclear program
and leaving no justification for any new UN sanctions.
The International Atomic Energy Agency has so far carried out at least
14 surprise inspections of Iran's nuclear sites, but it has never found
anything supporting West's allegations against the Islamic Republic.
At the same time, in the course of the continuation of adopting hostile
and partial policies, the British parliamentary defense committee has
used a fictitious name instead of Persian Gulf in one of its reports.
The parliamentary committee has used the fictitious title many times in
a 20-page report it has produced on the situation in Iraq. At least in
the past two years the fictitious title had not been used in the
official reports of the British parliament. Following the forging of the
Persian Gulf name by Gordon Brown, the Iranian embassy in London sent a
protest letter about this ill-considered action by the British prime
minister. It seems that Britain's malicious acts are being carried out
for the purpose of currying favor with the Zionists and certain Arab
countries.
