5 Iraqis Killed in War Attacks, More Reports About Heavy Israeli Involvement in Iraq, According to July 23, 2008 News Reports Editor's Note: Only God knows how many Iraqis are killed everyday. The following represents part of the reporting but readers are advised that the actual number of deaths should very much exceed what's reported. Concerning deaths of US soldiers, only those US citizens who die in Iraq are included in the statistics. There are no published statistics about US soldiers who die of their injuries after that. There are no published statistics about the deaths or injuries of the private army soldiers (security contractors), or about those without US citizenship. It is noteworthy that May 20, 2008 news reports showed that death squads which execute Iraqis on daily basis are no longer hiding themselves. Previously, Sunni leaders pointed to Mahdi Army and Badr militiamen as the perpetrators. Now, death squads are composed of the US-recruited Sahwa fighters and policemen (which is an opportunity for US forces command to sever relations with these fighters). Despite the fact that there are scores of organizations involved in the Iraq war, the Iraqi government officials prefer to refer to them as Alqaeda gunmen for propaganda purposes, as mentioned in the June 4, 2008 news report. For accuracy purposes, the term "Alqaeda gunmen" may be replaced with "Iraqi fighters." ============================
Yaqen.net reported the following news:
- A US military supplies truck was destroyed in Abu Ghraib area in Baghdad in an attack by the 1920s Brigades fighters. - A US military base was attacked with rockets by Jaish Al-Rashideen fighters, north of Samarra. - Two Iraqi soldiers were killed east of Mosul by unknown gunmen. - A US vehicle convoy was attacked by Jaish Al-Muslimeen fighters, in Al-Tarimiya. - Dar Babil for Iraqi Studies Center published a study about the heavy Israeli involvement in Iraq, pointing that several prominent Iraqis have been functioning as cover for Israeli activities, such as Masaud Barzani, Jalal Talabani, Kosert Rasoul, Ahmed Chalabi, Kenan Makiya, and Mithal Al-Alousi. The study also mentions the former Israeli defense minister, Fuad Ben-Eliezer, who was an Iraqi born in Basrah, directs the activities of Israelis visiting Iraq. Several Israeli companies are working with the Kurdish leaders to expropriate Iraqi oil from Kirkuk and carry it to Israel through Turkey. Two Israeli studies centers were headquartered in the French Embassy, then relocated in the Green Zune after an attack on the Embassy. These were the Israeli Center for Middle Eastern Studies and the Center for Arab Media Studies. The Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, is located in the sixth floor of Al-Rasheed Hotel, so is the Israeli daily newspaper, Yedioth Ahranoth, which has another office in the Kurdish city of Arbil. Major Israeli activities include training Kurdish forces and direct them to kill Iraqi scientists, intellectuals, and resistance fighters. The Israelis also established the Kurdish Loans Bank, which aims at buying agricultural lands and lands close to oil fields in Kirkuk and Mosul. Amsi.org reported that the US private army, known as Blackwater, announced that it's leaving Iraq. The announcement is believed to be in response to Barack Obama's decision to withdraw US forces from Iraq within 16 months. - An Iraqi woman was killed by an explosion, north of Ba'aqouba. - 11 people were injured in a roadside bomb attack targeting a police patrol in Mosul. - Two Iraqi civilians were killed, two policemen were injured in Mosul and Kirkuk. ============================= Iraq War Report for events of Tuesday, 22 July 2008.
