Two fighters with the al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, were killed Saturday evening, and five others were injured, when the Israeli occupation forces shelled a training site near Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

Israeli unmanned drone plane

Medical sources at an-Nassar Hospital in Khan Younis reported that an Israeli unmanned drone fired three missiles at a training center of the al-Qassam Brigades, in the Ma'an area east of Khan Younis.

Two fighters were killed, and fiver were wounded. Two of the wounded are in serious condition at an-Nassar hospital. The two who were killed were identified as Ayad Abu Abed and Mansour Al-Breem.

The Israeli military spokesman stated that the strike came in response to Palestinian homemade shells that have been fired into Israel – causing no injuries or damage – during the last week. None of the shells fired across the border into Israel were fired from the Khan Younis area.

A Hamas representative stated, "The attack is Israeli implementation of the green light that President (George W.) Bush gave Israel during his recent visit that enables the launch of an attack on the Gaza Strip." And a spokesman for Hamas' armed wing stated, "Israeli operations against Palestinian organizations will not subdue the Palestinian people and the Hamas organization and (will not prevent them) from continuing to fight the occupation."
