5.3 Degree Earthquake Hits Palestine and Neighboring Arab States Ramattan, February 15, 2008 A 5.3 degree earthquake hit Palestine and neighboring Arab states today. Palestinians said that it lasted for several seconds and it was stronger than others before it. The earthquake also hit Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Egypt, and even Greece felt it, with moderate damages and injuries. Experts said that the quake epicenter was in the Lebanese city of Zahlah at a depth of nine kilometers. The Middle Eastern region as a whole was hit with at least ten other earthquake in the last three days. This indicates that there is a possibility that stronger earthquake may be on the way in the near future. Arabic version writer: B. J.
