US Soldier, 22 Iraqis Killed, Including 9 Members of One Family in Aujah, According to February 14, 2008 News Reports Yaqen.net news agency reported that two trucks carrying supplies to the US military base of Habbaniya, west of Al-Anbar Province were attacked and destroyed, the two non-Iraqi Arab drivers were killed. Yaqen also reported that US forces killed a senior Iraqi Hamas leader in Diala and injured another one in Ba'aqouba. The Iraq news agnecy (INA) mentioned that the killing was by a mistake, as the Iraqi Hamas group is recruited by US forces to fight the Iraqi Al-Qaeda organization. Yaqen further reported that a US soldier was killed in Sammara and three bodies of Iraqis executed by death squads were found in Baghdad today. The Iraq news agency (INA) reported that a car bomb exploded in a Sadr City market today, killing five people and injuring 25 others. - Former Iraqi General Majid Mahmoud Hussain was assassinated in Samarra today. He was just released at the end of 2007 from the US prison in Um Qasr, where he spent three years. The General was a division commander during the Iran-Iraq war. - 9 members of Labib Khater family were executed by a death squad inside their home in Al-Aujah, near Tikrit, Wednesday night. Blast
leaves 30 casualties in eastern Baghdad At least five
persons were killed and 25 more were wounded on Thursday in a
booby-trapped bus explosion in Sadr City in eastern Baghdad, a police
source said. An Awakening Council member was gunned down in an armed attack in south western Kirkuk, while 11 suspects were arrested by police forces in the center of the city, an official police source said on Thursday. "Unknown gunmen driving a modern vehicle opened
fire on an Awakening Council member in al-Huweija district, killing him
on the spot," the source, who requested anonymity, told Aswat al-Iraq,
Voices of Iraq, (VOI). Two decayed bodies were found buried in a
house’s garden in western Baghdad, said a police source on Friday. 2 Iraqi soldiers injured in bomb blast
in Basra Two Iraqi soldiers were injured on Thursday morning in a bomb explosion in northern Basra, a police source said. “An improvised explosive device went off targeting an Iraqi vehicle patrol near al-Andalus fuel station in northern Basra,” the source, who asked anonymity, told Aswat al-Iraq – Voices of Iraq (VOI). “The explosion wounded two soldiers, who were
rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment, and damaged their Hammer,” he
added. The chief of police of al-Beaaj district was
injured on Thursday when an improvised explosive device went off
targeting his motorcade in western Mosul, the district’s mayor said. “The attack injured him along with three of his
bodyguards,” the mayor added. Two elements working for a foreign security
company in Iraq were wounded in an explosive charge attack, an Iraqi
security source said on Thursday. "The improvised explosive device detonated while
the convoy was passing close to the traffic department and al-Shaab al-Dawli
playground in eastern Baghdad," the source indicated, refusing to reveal
