Israeli occupation forces kill pardoned Palestinian fighter, Muhammed Abu Dhera'a, in Nablus IOF unit assassinates "pardoned" AMB member [ 02/12/2008 - 01:31 PM ] A special unit of the Israeli occupation forces on Monday night shot and killed Muhammed Abu Dhera'a, a member of the Aqsa Martyrs Brigades the armed wing of Fatah, in Balata refugee camp east of Nablus city. Local sources reported that the IOF troops were hiding in one of the streets near the refugee camp while Abu Dra was on his way to the PA prison where he stays every night in accordance with a PA agreement with Israel that stipulates an Israeli "pardon" to those who renounce resistance and stipulates retaining those who accepted the "pardon" to remain in PA jails for a period of time. However, the IOF soldiers ambushed Abu Dhera'a and shot at him before dragging him to the car they were boarding and taking him to Hawara roadblock east of Nablus. The IOF carried Abu Dra to Kfar Sava hospital then told the PA that he was dead and handed his body to the Palestinian liaison office, the sources elaborated. The IOF did not respect its pledge not to target those who renounced resistance and were pardoned, and murdered many AMB activists in Nablus and other cities in the West Bank. A number of AMB cadres, who were not included it the Israeli "pardon", are still held in PA jails and have gone on hunger strike to protest their detention and undecided condition. Local sources in Nablus charged the PA security apparatuses with collusion in the assassination, noting that their elements disappeared from the streets before and after the assassination crime. Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation authority announced full alert on Tuesday morning in Tel Aviv after receiving information that one or two Palestinians were planning a human bombing attack in the city. In another development, the Palestinian prisoner's club in Al-Khalil (Hebron) said that the IOF kidnapped 79 Palestinians in various areas of the district last month only. It added that the kidnapped included 23 children less than 18 years old and most of them were severely beaten on detention. Israeli occupation forces kill pardoned Palestinian fighter in Nablus Date: 02 / 12 / 2008 Time: 09:11 Israeli occupation forces (IOF) killed a Palestinian man formerly affiliated to the armed wing of Fatah, Al-Aqsa Brigades, in Balata Refugee Camp in the West Bank city of Nablus at Midnight on Monday. The man was identified as 27-year-old Mohammad Abu Thraa, a fighter who had been pardoned by the Israeli occupation government, part of an amnesty agreement with the Palestinian Authority (PA). Nablus Governor Jamal Muhaisen accused Israel of deliberately assassinating Abu Dhera'a. Muhaisin confirmed that Abu Dhera'a had, as a part of his amnesty deal, spent time in the PA’s Al-Junaid prison. After receiving a formal pardon, he would spend his days in his house, and then would be transported to the prison by a Palestinian Preventive Security bus. The governor added that there is “no justification” for killing a man already pardoned by Israel. He called the operation “cowardly.” Hundreds of Palestinian fighters, mainly those affiliated with Fatah, have signed amnesty contracts, under which they agree to renounce armed struggle and spend a stint in jail in exchange for a pardon from Israel and a return to civilian life without the fear of pursuit by Israeli forces. The Israeli occupation army claimed that its forces shot Abu Dhera'a while attempting to arrest him, and that he died after being transferred to Beilinson Hospital in the Israeli city of Petah Tikva. While no blood was found at the scene where Abu Dhera'a was seized, gunshots were heard immediately after the soldiers arrested him. Meanwhile, Israeli occupation forces seized nine other Palestinians during overnight raids across the West Bank. Sources in the Israeli army reported that they arrested residents of the cities of Jenin, Ramallah and Bethlehem. ***Updated at 9:39 local time
