IOG establishes synagogue at the Islamic Maghareba gate

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM, (PIC)--

The Israeli occupation government (IOG) is planning to establish a Jewish synagogue for women at Bab el-Maghareba gate of the holy Aqsa Mosque in occupied Jerusalem, Hebrew press reports said.

The Hebrew daily Ma'ariv said that the planning and construction committee of the Israeli interior ministry had approved the establishment of the synagogue under the new Maghareba bridge.

The old Islamic bridge had collapsed in 2004 due to the excavations made by the Israeli archeological department.

Israeli troops invade West Bank cities, kidnap 2 civilians

Israeli occupation soldiers invaded Ni’lin village, west of the central West Bank city of Ramallah and the northern West Bank city of Jenin on Saturday dawn, and kidnapped two civilians.

Local sources reported that the army invaded Ni’lin village and kidnapped 2 civilians. Eye witnesses reported that the army kidnapped Fuad Shaker and Ibrahim Amir, members of the Popular Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in Ni'lin village.

Moreover, troops invaded Raba village, south of Jenin, and installed a roadblock at the entrance of the village hindering the movement of the civilians.

Five patients die due to the siege in 24 hours

Rami Abdo, media spokesperson of the Popular Committee Against the Siege, reported on Friday that five patients died in the Gaza Strip in 24 hours, one of the patients is a three-month old infant who suffered from a heart disease.

In a press release, Abdo stated that the patients died after being barred from leaving the Gaza Strip to receive medical treatment abroad as Israel continues its siege over Gaza, and the hospitals became unable to provide medical treatment, especially to patients with critical conditions.

The infant was identified as Ahmed Abu 'Amra.

Also, Khadeeja Al-'Assar, from Dair Al-Balah in the central Gaza Strip, died of kidney cancer after being barred from leaving the Gaza Strip for medical treatment.

An elderly patient, identified as Jamal Mahmoud Abu Qishta, from Rafah in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, died of brain tumor on Thursday evening. He was also barred from leaving the Gaza Strip for medical treatment.

On Friday morning, patient Amal Ahmed Al Raba’ay, 44, died on cancer although she had all transfer papers ready for medical treatment abroad.

Also on Friday, patient Fayiz Al-Za’aneen, 37, from Beit Haoun in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, died of cancer; he had all transfer papers ready but was barred from leaving the Gaza Strip.

Abdo voiced an appeal to Egypt to intervene and enable the patients to leave Gaza in order to receive the needed medical treatment.

He also stated that hundreds of students who study abroad and came visit their families are now stranded in the Gaza Strip and unable to go back to their universities and colleges.

Palestinian female political detainees suffering in Israeli occupation prisons

Freed Palestinian political prisoner Seema 'Anbas revealed Friday that her fellow prisoner 36-year-old Amal Juma'a is suffering from uterine cancer.

'Anbas heard the news about Juma'a after the latter's sister returned from a visit to the women's prison. She said that the cancer was discovered two days ago after doctors conducted her regular checkup in the prison.

Juma'a is 36-years-old and a resident of 'Askar refugee camp near the West Bank city of Nablus and is serving an 11 year sentence.

'Anbas called on prison authorities to provide medical care for Juma'a and allow a specialist into the prison to conduct the required medical assessment. She added that the prison authorities should allow a doctor in to examine all women who suffer from illnesses, and give medicine to those who need it.

She asked Human Rights organizations working in the Palestinian territories and inside the Green Line to investigate the situation, which is worsening daily.

'Anbas said that female prisoners suffer greatly from the policy of medical negligence by the Israeli prison administration. She sited several examples of women suffering in prisons.

One of the examples was Faten Amer, 27-years-old and resident of the West Bank city of Hebron, who is serving a 16 year sentence in Damun prison in the Ktziyot area. In an interview with Ma'an Amer's sister said that Faten was loosing weight rapidly and was now only 35kg. She complained of suffering from headaches for no reason and has been refused treatment. Amer reported that while visiting her she found her handcuffed and shackled.
