2 US Soldier, 34 Iraqis Killed in War Attacks, According to April 8, 2008 News Reports Aljazeera tv reported at 4:00 pm that 12 Iraqis were killed, scores were injured in clashes between US-backed Iraqi forces and Mahdi Army militiamen in Sadr City. The Iraq News Agency (INA) reported that two US soldiers were killed in Diala. It also reported that nine people were killed, 35 were injured in US air raid on Al-Ameen neighborhood, in eastern Baghdad.

attack in Dalouiya A woman was killed and three of her relatives were wounded in a mortar attack on their house in Dalouiya, Salah al-Din, a police source said on Tuesday. Two mortar rounds landed on a house in al-Sadeeq village in east of Dalouiya, killing a woman and seriously injuring three of the same family as well as causing severe material damage to the house, the source told Aswat al-Iraq Voices of Iraq (VOI). Gunman killed, 3 hostages freed in Mosul Ninewa - Voices of Iraq A gunman was killed in clashes between Iraqi army soldiers and unidentified gunmen in eastern Mosul on Tuesday, an official army source said. "Unidentified gunmen opened their machine-gun fire at an army patrol in al-Mosul al-Jadida (New Mosul), in the eastern part of the city. The Iraqi soldiers fired back, killing one gunman," Lt. Colonel Fadel Kouran of the Iraqi army's 7th Brigade told Aswat al-Iraq Voices of Iraq (VOI). "The clashes caused slight damage to a number of

Bomb blast kills six, wounds five in Diala Diala - Voices of Iraq Tuesday , 08 /04 /2008 Time 2:40:18 Diala, Apr 8, (VOI)- Four children and two women were killed and five more civilians were wounded on Tuesday when a roadside bomb exploded near a minibus in Diala province, central Iraq, a police source said. An explosive charge exploded near a minibus in al-Dihaldah village, this morning, killing four children and two women who were onboard, the source, who asked not to be named, told Aswat al-Iraq- Voices of Iraq- (VOI). The source added that the explosion also wounded one more woman and four children. Diala is 57 km northeast of Baghdad. SK U.S. soldier killed in Baghdad-army Baghdad - Voices of Iraq Tuesday , 08 /04 /2008 Time 2:40:18 Baghdad, Apr 8, (VOI)- The U.S. army said on Tuesday a service member was killed from wounds sustained when a roadside bomb struck his vehicle in Baghdad. A Multi-National Division Baghdad Soldier was killed from wounds sustained when an improvised explosive device struck his vehicle at approximately 9:30 p.m. April 7, the U.S. army said in a statement received by Aswat al-Iraq- Voices of Iraq- (VOI). Late on Monday, the U.S. military said in a release that two U.S. troops were killed in a rocket-propelled grenade attack in Baghdad. Two Multi-National Division Baghdad Soldiers were killed in a rocket-propelled grenade attack at approximately 6 p.m. April 7, the statement explained. The deaths bring to 4023 the number of U.S. soldiers killed in Iraq since the beginning of military operations in March 2003. Of this number, 11 have been killed in April 2008, while 40 were killed in January 2008. SK 2 civilians killed, 2 wounded in attacks near Mosul Ninewa - Voices of Iraq Tuesday , 08 /04 /2008 Time 2:40:18 Ninewa, Apr 8, (VOI) Two civilians were killed and two others wounded in two separate attacks west and south of Mosul city, a spokesman for the Ninewa security operations command said on Tuesday. "An improvised explosive device (IED) went off inside a shop in al-Hai al-Sinaie neighborhood, Rubaiaa district, (120 km) west of Mosul, killing one civilian and wounding two others," Brig. Khaled Abdul-Sattar told Aswat al-Iraq Voices of Iraq (VOI). "The blast also caused severe damage to the shop," Abdul-Sattar said, not revealing further details. South of Mosul, Abdul-Sattar said, clashes with light and medium weapons broke out on Monday evening between unidentified gunmen and the bodyguards of the al-Hadar mayor, Ali Saleh Mady, near his home. Mady's wife was killed in the clashes. Mosul, the capital of Ninewa province, lies 405 km north of Baghdad. AE 16 wounded in Touz Khormato blast Kirkuk - Voices of Iraq Tuesday , 08 /04 /2008 Time 3:14:55 Kirkuk, Apr 8, (VOI) Casualties from Tuesday's earlier blast in an outdoor souk (market) southwest of Kirkuk rose to 16 wounded, all of them civilians, according to a police source. "An improvised explosive device (IED) that ripped through a souk in central Touz Khormato district, (85 km) southwest of Kirkuk, left 16 civilians wounded, some of them were in critical condition," the source, who did not want to be named, told Aswat al-Iraq Voices of Iraq (VOI). The same source earlier said that 11 people were wounded in the Touz blast in an initial count of casualties. Kirkuk, a city of mixed population of ethnic and religious groups, lies 250 km northeast of the Iraqi capital Baghdad. Touz Khormato, administratively part of Salah al-Din province, is 200 km northeast of Baghdad. AE
