Palestinian Killed in Gaza, 14 Kidnapped, Several West Bank Towns Invaded by Israeli Occupation Forces

Israeli snipers kill Palestinian young man in Beit Hanoon

GAZA, (PIC)--, April 29, 2008

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) killed Monday evening a Palestinian young man called Mu'ad Al-Akhras, 21, near the Nada towers in Beit Hanoon, northern Gaza Strip.

According to medical sources, Al-Akhras sustained gunshot wounds in his chest and head fired by IOF snipers who are deployed on the borders between northern Gaza and the Palestinian lands occupied in 1948.

The IOF killed earlier Monday seven Palestinians including a mother and her four children from the family of Abu Mu'ataq after their house was pounded by three projectiles fired by Israeli tanks that also led to the injury of 13 citizens.

The Palestinian masses of the northern Gaza Strip marched on the same day in the funeral procession of Abu Mu'ataq family and bid farewell to the Palestinian mother and her four children.

During the funereal, Dr. Ahmed Bahar, the acting speaker of the PLC, stated that when the Israeli occupation kills children, it proves its failure and inability to confront the Palestinian resistance, which taught the IOF troops many lessons in the battlefield.

"The occupation does not want peace or calm; it wants to foil all mediations and efforts; therefore, it must be restrained and curbed," Dr. Bahar said addressing the international community.

For his part, MP Mushir Al-Masri, the secretary-general of the Hamas parliamentary bloc, underlined that the Israeli occupation through such crimes would never be able to force the Palestinian people to relinquish their rights and constants, and called for opening investigation into all crimes committed by Israel against the Palestinian people.
