Palestinian supreme judge condemns Israeli closure of Ibrahimi Mosque Date: 30 / 09 / 2007 Time: 10:51 Hebron – Ma'an – Palestinian Supreme Judge Shaikh Taysir Al-Tamimi on Sunday condemned the Israeli occupation forces closure of the Ibrahimi Mosque in the southern West Bank city of Hebron. The Israeli occupation forces have imposed a complete closure of the mosque, also known as the Cave of the Patriarchs, on Sunday and Monday. The synagogue side of the Cave of the Patriarchs will be open for Jewish settlers and this is the sixth time the mosque has been closed to Muslims during this Ramadan. Al-Tamimi described the closure of the mosque during Ramadan as "tyrannical and unjustified". He added that the Israeli government seeks to transform the entire Islamic site into a Jewish synagogue. Al-Tamimi appealed to the international community to intervene and exert pressure on the Israeli occupation government to halt its oppressive policies in Palestinian holy places.
