Israeli Occupation Forces Kill a Palestinian, Injure 5 in Beit Hanoun, Kidnap 2 in Ramallah, Invade Ain Refugee Camp One Palestinian killed and five injured in clashes between Brigades and Israeli occupation forces near Beit Hanoun Date: 28 / 09 / 2007 Time: 10:08 (Ma'anImages) Gaza – Ma'an – A member of the Al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigades was killed and another five Brigades members injured in an Israeli artillery bombardment on the town of Beit Hanoun in the north of the Gaza Strip. Twenty-one-year-old Hussam Al-Hawayhi was killed in the attack. Dr Mu'awiya Hassanein, director of the ambulance and emergency in the Gaza Strip said that it was not possible at this time to reveal the identity of the dead man because of the state of his body. The Al-Aqsa Brigades, the Al-Quds Brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, said that five of their members had been injured in clashes with Israeli forces, near Gaza International Airport in the south of the Gaza Strip. The Brigades said in a statement that they had observed the Israeli occupation death squads (special forces) trying to penetrate the Rafah area near the airport and they engaged them in clashes. They added that three members of the Al-Aqsa Brigades and two members of the Al-Quds Brigade were injured during the operation. They also claimed the Israeli forces took casualties. Hamas leader injured in assassination attempt Date: 28 / 09 / 2007 Time: 09:53 Gaza – Ma'an – One of the leaders of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, was moderately injured on Thursday evening after unknown assailants threw a hand grenade at him as he stood on the doorstep of his home in the city of Rafah in the south of the Gaza Strip. Palestinian sources said that Raja Fadil Hussain was saying goodbye to a friend when the grenade was thrown at him. He was taken to Al-Shaheed Abu Yousuf Al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah for treatment. The Executive Forces opened an immediate investigation and have not released any further information. Israeli occupation forces patrol comes under machine gun fire in Nablus Date: 28 / 09 / 2007 Time: 10:42 Bethlehem – Ma'an – Palestinian resistance fighters opened fire at an Israeli occupation forces patrol in the early hours of Friday morning in one of the camps of city of Nablus, in the northern West Bank. Israeli sources said that an Israeli occupation forces spokesman had confirmed that they had been targeted by machine gun fire from the Beit 'Ain Al-Ma' refugee camp, in western Nablus during "security operations". They did not report any casualties. 2 kidnapped at Ramallah checkpoint Date: 28 / 09 / 2007 Time: 10:34 Bethlehem – Ma'an – Israeli sources reported that Israeli occupation forces kidnapped two Palestinians claiming that they were trying to carry two explosive devices in their car through an Israeli checkpoint north of the city of Ramallah in the early hours of Friday morning. The sources said that the Israeli occupation forces discovered the devices when two men in a car traveling on the road to Birzeit. They were taken to an Israeli occupation interrogation centre.
