Israeli gunboats and aircrafts shell northern Gaza, two Palestinians injured

Israeli air crafts shelled the towns of Beit Lahiya and Beit Hanoun, located in the northern Gaza Strip, in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli occupation military jets fired two rockets on a group of civilians. No one was injured in the attack.

The al-Quds brigades, the armed wing of Islamic Jihad, declared that four members had survived the Israeli attack.

Elsewhere, two Palestinians were injures, among them one child.

Israeli gunboats also opened heavy on civilian properties located to the west of Beit Lahiya, causing damages but no injuries.

Meanwhile, Palestinian Resistance fighters shelled the western Negev with seven home-made shells.

Palestinian child injured by Israeli missiles in northern Gaza

A Palestinian child was injured on Wednesday morning when Israeli occupation helicopters fired arbitrarily into an area from which Islamic Jihad's Al-Quds Brigades had been launching projectiles towards Israeli targets.

Director of ambulances and emergencies in the Palestinian ministry of health, Dr Muawiya Hassanain, reported that ten-year-old Khalid Juway'id was injured from shrapnel after Israeli helicopters fired five missiles into the northern Gaza Strip.

Juway'id was evacuated to Beit Hanoun Hospital, northern Gaza, for treatment.

The Al-Quds Brigades issued a statement declaring that a group of its fighters survived an Israeli air strike in Beit Hanoun, after they launched projectiles from the area.

Eyewitnesses confirmed that Israeli helicopters bombarded Beit Hanoun and fighter jets continue to fly over the area, firing intensively at Jabalia, also in northern Gaza.

Ma'an's correspondent reported that there was an evident escalation in Palestinian projectile attacks on Israeli targets on Wednesday following several days of cautious calm.

Al-Aqsa Brigades

The military wing of Fateh, the Al-Aqsa Brigades, on Wednesday claimed responsibility for launching a mortar shell at an infantry patrol near an Israeli military post east of Al-Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip.

The brigades declared that their combatants were unharmed as Israeli forces operating in the area pursued those responsible for the shelling and opened fire.

PRC

The Al-Nasser Salahuddin Brigades of the Popular Resistance Committees announced that they launched three mortar shells at the Israeli military post at Kerem Shalom Crossing, east of Rafah, in the southern Gaza Strip.

The brigades alleged that Israeli sources acknowledged the attack.

Palestinian resistance fighters drive Israeli occupation forces out of Qabatiya

Islamic Jihad's military wing, the Al-Quds Brigades, on Wednesday claimed that it hurled grenades at Israeli occupation forces which had set ambushes in the northern West Bank town of Qabatiya.

Early on Wednesday morning, eight Israeli military vehicles invaded Qabatiya and deployed infantry units in four areas of the town.

The troops set ambushes in an attempt to seize Palestinian resistance fighters, but they were discovered and attacked with grenades.

The Israeli occupation forces subsequently withdrew from Qabatiya.
