Relatives of Palestinian prisoners demand trial of Israeli interrogators

[ 24/09/2007 - 11:06 AM ]

SALFIT, (PIC)--

The families of Palestinian prisoners in Israeli occupation jails have said that all violations against their imprisoned relatives should be documented in preparation for demanding an international trial for Israeli interrogators and jailers.

The relatives said that those Israeli interrogators and jailors should stand trial as "war criminals".

A mother of a prisoner said that her daughter was held in solitary confinement for more than a year, adding that all involved "Zionist criminals" should be brought to account even if all Palestinian prisoners were freed.

A liberated prisoner supported the idea, saying that Zionist interrogators force female prisoners to strip for search and threaten to rape them during investigation rounds. "Those Zionists should know that they would not escape prosecution," he added.

More than 100 Palestinian female prisoners are incarcerated in Israeli occupation jails among 11,000 or more Palestinian prisoners.

In a related development, a Palestinian prisoner reportedly attacked an Israeli warden in Ramle prison with a sharp tool on Sunday.

The Hebrew radio said that the officer was hospitalized, adding that the prisoner is serving a sentence for attempting to produce "combat means".

The act displays the extent of the Palestinian prisoners' anger over the constant unjustified, harassment on the part of their jailers.
