4 US Soldiers, 51 Iraqis Killed, According to a September 15, 2007 News Report

 

The Iraq News Agency (INA) reported the following news in its September 15, 2007 war news report.

-  8 Iraqi civilians were killed, 15 were injured in a suicide attack on a police checkpoint in Al-Amel neighborhood, southwest of Baghdad.

- A death squad wearing Iraqi security uniform assassinated Khaled Mattar, a former senior Iraqi army officer and two people who were standing in front of his home in Ba'aqouba.

Sotaliraq newspaper reported the following news for today.

4 US soldiers were killed when their vehicle was destroyed by a roadside bomb in Diyala, northeast of Bahgdad.

10 Iraqis were killed, 15 were injured when a suicide truck bomber attacked two police cars parking in front of a restaurant in Biji.

- An Iraqi gunman was killed by US forces in Al-Tarimiyah, north of Baghdad.

- An Iraqi army officer was killed in his house by gunmen in Kirkuk.

- A woman was killed, her daughter was injured by gunmen in Huwaijah.

- 2 bodies of a judge and a police officer were found in Balad.

- 3 people were killed by gunmen in Al-Suwairah, south of Baghdad.

- A soldier was killed, a body was found in Hillah.

- 3 Iraqis were killed by US-led forces in a Falloujah mosque.

BAGHDAD (AP) --

In war attacks Saturday, an Iraqi soldier was killed when gunmen attacked a checkpoint in Ba'aqouba, capital of Diyala province, Iraqi army said. Police and army officials said eight civilians also were killed and five others wounded in attacks around the volatile city, a stronghold of the Islamic State of Iraq until U.S. soldiers overran it in July.

Separately, U.S. and Iraqi troops backed by attack aircraft killed 14 Iraqis suspected of resistance and detained 17 others Saturday in raids targeting senior leaders, the military said.
