Shaikh Salah warns: “Israel is planning to divide the Al-Aqsa mosque”

Saturday September 01, 2007 02:17 by Maisa Abu Ghazala - IMEMC saed at imemc dot org

Shaikh Raed Salah, head of the Islamic Movement in Israel sent a letter to Arab leaders, and kings, in addition to heads of Islamic and Arab Societies in the Arab world to act in order to foil the Israeli attempts to divide the mosque and impose its own plans.

The letter was sent to King Abdullah of Jordan, King Abdullah Al Saoud of Saudi Arabia, King Mohammad the Second of Morocco, Egyptian president Hosny Mubarak, Dr, Abdullah Al-Turkey, secretary-general of the Muslim World League, Turkish prime minister Receb Tayeb Ardogan, Professor Akmal Ed Deen Ogolo, secretary-general of the organization of Islamic Conference, Mr. Amro Mousa, secretary-general of the Arab League, and Dr. Kamil Sharif, head of the Universal Council of Islamic Relief.

In his letter, Shaikh Salah stated that the Israeli (government) is attempting to divide the Al-Aqsa mosque, is digging under and near it, and ongoing with its attempts which aim at voiding the Arab and Islamic history in the Holy city.

Shaikh Salah also stated extreme fundamental Jewish groups are attacking the mosque, and holding prayers inside it, and are baring the guards of the mosque, who work with the Muslim Wqf department, from entering it.

He also said that Israeli soldiers keep interfering in the work of the maintenance employees of the mosque, and repeatedly attacked and arrested them.

Fundamental Jewish groups in Israel organize campaign to bring thousands of tourists to the mosque area, but incite them not to talk to Arabs or Arab tour guides.

They do not inform the tourists that they should wear decent clothes, before they enter the mosque in respect to the holy site.
