Hundreds of illegal Israeli settlers gather to throw stones at Palestinian cars

Date: 09 / 10 / 2007 Time: 09:56

Qalqilia – Ma'an –

A group of illegal Israeli settlers from the illegally-built Qedumim settlement, near the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia, on Monday afternoon threw stones at Palestinian cars on the main road between Qalqilia and Nablus.

Palestinian citizen Mahmoud Allam said that the windscreens of two taxis were smashed in the assault.

Allam said that more than two-hundred settlers amassed near Qedumim at around 4pm and threw stones and metal instruments at taxis, demolishing the windows of many.

The assault took place in the presence of Israeli police who were inactive, said Allam.

Israeli sources reported that the Israeli military evacuated a settlers' outpost near Qalqilia on Monday.
