Sweden refuses to grant visa to Palestinian MP Mona Mansour [ 28/10/2007 - 12:11 PM ] NABLUS, (PIC)-- The Swedish embassy in occupied Jerusalem has refused to grant an entry visa to Palestinian MP Mona Mansour, a member of the Hamas-affiliated change and reform parliamentary bloc, to attend a conference on the Palestine cause in Stockholm. Mansour received an official invitation from the Olof Palme International Center to attend the conference that was scheduled on October 20-27, 2007, on the Palestinian question but she was denied the necessary visa to enter Sweden. However, the embassy, which refused to grant the lawmaker the visa, granted it to other Palestinian figures invited to the same conference. In an unrelated development, Mansour, a couple of days ago, issued a press release castigating PA chief Mahmoud Abbas's security forces' attacks on female students of the Najah University's Islamic bloc while on a protest march against the storming of their Musala (place of prayers). The MP denounced the University's discrimination against members of the Islamic bloc and asked its administration to assume its responsibility and bring those responsible for the attack to account.
