GAZA, (PIC)--

The PA Prime Minister Ismail Haniyah affirmed, during the Eid sermon on Friday, his government's commitment to national unity repeating his call for Palestinian talks.

He outlined elements forming the basis for a resolution of the Palestinian internal crisis the first of which is the adherence to the Makkah agreement, the Cairo agreement and the national concord document.

He also stressed the importance of unity of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, the unity of the Palestinian political establishment, "only one PA and one government" as he put it.

"We don't want to establish a state in Gaza, despite its place in Palestinian history, but we do not want to have a separate entity in Gaza, but we will run it honestly and honourably until it is sorted out between us and our brothers with the Grace of Allah."

He also called for respect for the authorities of the presidency, the legislative council, and the national unity government as well as respect for the law.

He called for restructuring the security agencies without any outside interference.

He called on President Mahmoud Abbas not to fall into the trap of deceitful conferences and urged him not to participate in the autumn conference.

He also warned against compromises on the issues of Jerusalem and refugees urging Arab countries not to normalize relations with the enemy.

He did not forget in his sermon the suffering of Palestinian captives in Israeli jails, especially the elected representatives who have spent more than a year in Israeli captivity so far.

He also mentioned the oppressive siege imposed on the Palestinians for electing Hamas saying that it is those powers who pay lip service to the notion of human rights and democracy that are behind the oppressive siege against the Palestinian just for practicing their democratic rights.

Finally, he called for the release of all political prisoners from PA jails.

Bethlehem – Ma'an –

His comments came in a speech in Gaza to thousands of worshippers after the Eid Al-Fitr prayer.

Haniyah called on all the Palestinian factions not to go on any meetings before Palestinian unity had been reached.

He also called on the Arab countries, especially Egypt and Saudi Arabia, not to normalize relations with Israel.

Haniyah reiterated that Hamas is ready for dialogue with Fateh to discuss unity between the West Bank and Gaza, compliance with the Mecca and the Cairo Accords and the founding of a national unity government.

Abdul Mu'ati: The autumn conference aims for free normalization with Israel

[ 12/10/2007 - 07:37 AM ]

TEHRAN, (PIC)--

Dr. Abu Osama Abdul Mu'ati, the Hamas representative in Teharn, stated that the autumn conference which was called for by President Bush aims to gain free normalization of relations with Israel and to liquidate the Palestinian cause stressing that the Palestinian issue will remain alive despite all conspiracies.

Abdul Mu'ati said that the conference will achieve normalization of relation with the "Zionist enemy" because leaders and representatives of Arab countries will meet with representatives of the Zionist entity in the same conference hall without this conference producing any results that can serve the Palestinian people.

He added, in a press conference that he held in Tehran, that the conference will have a detrimental effect on the Palestinian constants regarding Jerusalem and the right of return of Palestinian refugees stressing that the conference was also meant reinforce the state of Arab and Palestinian division and give support to Abbas in his fight against Hamas.

"It is a conference to liquidate the Palestinian issue, this is the true agenda of the conference, we reject it and this conference will fail like all previous conspiracies against the Palestinian people and their just cause," he stated.

He pointed to the continuing decline of the Zionist project since the start of the first intifada in 1987 asserting that the intifada placed a large question mark as to the future or the "Zionist entity".

He cited the Israeli withdrawal from southern Lebanon in 2000, the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza and last year's July war in Lebanon as evidence of such decline.

Finally he talked about the National conference that is planned in Damascus which is aimed to be a large political demonstration stressing on the Palestinian constants were the participants will express the fact that the Palestinian cause is a central cause for the Arab and the Muslim Ummah (Nation).
