Israeli settlers erect tents to establish new illegal settlement Date: 01 / 10 / 2007 Time: 11:21 Hebron – Ma'an – Dozens of illegal Israeli settlers on Sunday erected tents on a hill at the Al-Nabi Younus in Hahul north of Hebron as a base for establishing a new Israeli settlement on the hill, Ma'an's reporter said. The hill is located near an Israeli occupation forces base near the bypass road. The Israeli occupation police and soldiers closed the area and declared it a military zone, denying the Palestinians access to the area. The Israeli settlers were free to erect their tents and move back and forth. According to the Israeli pro-peace movement "Peace Now", more than a hundred Israeli settlements in the West Bank have been illegally established. The Israeli authorities have pledged on several occasions to dismantle these settlements, which are illegal under international law as they have been established on lands occupied by force.
