Mesha'al: US main goal behind its Mid-East conference is to cover up for its coming war on Iran

[ 06/11/2007 - 01:03 PM ]

DAMASCUS, (PIC)--

Khaled Mesha'al, the head of Hamas political bureau, stated on Monday that US strategic goal behind the autumn (Israeli-Palestinian)  conference is to pave the way and to cover for its coming war on Iran, Syria, Lebanon and the Gaza Strip, confirming that America distract us with its conference and prepares for another real game.

In a meeting with writers and intellectuals held in Damascus, Mesha'al reconfirmed that Hamas accepts any Arab or Muslim efforts for the return of dialogue with Fateh based on national foundations, pointing out that the one who refuses any dialogue is not Hamas but USA, Israel and some Palestinian parties.

The Hamas leader underlined that Hamas has exerted strenuous efforts at Arab, Islamic and Palestinian levels for the restoration of the Palestinian unity, pointing out that many Arab and Muslim countries who tried to mediate for the return of dialogue know that the problem is not in Hamas movement.

The Hamas leader also asserted that that there are indications that the PA leadership is going to make serious concessions in the autumn conference, highlighting that no one is entitled to make any concessions in the light of the inter-Palestinian division and absence of the role of the legitimate Palestinian institutions.

The Hamas leader expressed his fears that Arabs and Palestinians could plunge into the autumn conference and normalize their relations with the Israeli occupation, warning that the Israeli aim from the conference is only to normalize its relations with the Arab states without giving anything in return.

The Hamas leader called on Arab countries not to get involved in this dangerous and suspicious Zio-American game and not to refer to the legitimacy of the political behavior exercised by the PA leadership because it will neither protect the Arabs nor the PA.

Regarding the national conference called for by Palestinian factions, the Hamas leader stated that the conference will be held in Damascus at the same time as the autumn conference, pointing out that the motive for holding this conference is the Palestinian factions' concern for Palestinian constants and rights.
