Hamas: Zionist escalation on Gaza pre-planned, in coordination with USA

[ 04/11/2007 - 04:27 PM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

The Hamas Movement on Sunday affirmed that the Zionist escalation on Gaza was pre-planned and in coordination with the American administration.

Fawzi Barhoum, a Hamas spokesman in the Strip, said in a press release that the coordination was clear when both foreign ministers of Israel Tzipi Livni and America Condoleezza Rice simultaneously declared war on Hamas and the Strip.

The Israeli "atrocities are a direct reflection of the American-backed Israeli terrorism" that aims at pressuring Hamas to give up resistance, Barhoum opined.

He called on PA chief Mahmoud Abbas to ask Rice, as long as he is insisting on meeting her, to pressure Israel and to amend the American hostile stand against the Palestinian people.

He also called for halting all forms of negotiations and coordination with the "Israeli enemy", which is still insisting on besieging and destroying the capabilities of the Palestinian people.

Hamas will pursue the resistance path along with all other resistance factions, he said, affirming, "We will not be swayed (from this path) by American dictates or occupation strikes".

Qassam: Occupation not in need of green light from USA

[ 04/11/2007 - 11:09 AM ]

GAZA, (PIC)--

Zionist occupation is not in need of a green light from the USA or any other country to invade the Gaza Strip, Abu Obaida the spokesman of the Qassam Brigades, the armed wing of Hamas, asserted in a statement on Sunday.

He described media reports that Washington had given the green light to Tel Aviv to launch a wide scale operation against the Strip as "an attempt to deceive the world public opinion".

The IOA is daily committing crimes against the Palestinian people and the USA never interfered with a red light, the spokesman underlined, charging the Hebrew state was exercising systematic terrorism against the Palestinian people.

Abu Obaida then opined that occupation could not storm the Strip because it knows it would be met with stiff resistance.

For its part, the interior ministry in the PA caretaker government urged the Arab League to swiftly respond to the government's appeal for an extraordinary meeting to discuss the Israeli attacks on the Palestinian people especially in the Strip.

The ministry in a statement on Sunday denounced the new Israeli crime in northern Gaza in which four Palestinians were martyred and many others wounded.

It called on the Palestinian factions to unite in face of the IOA aggression and stressed that the security apparatuses in Gaza would do all it could to protect the people and would never serve as protector of occupiers.
