Israeli occupation forces killed a Palestinian activist affiliated with the Democratic Front of the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) and wounded three others in an airstrike in Rafah, at the southern end of the Gaza Strip early Saturday morning.

The three injured Palestinians were taken to Abu Yousuf Al-Najjar Hospital in Rafah for treatment.

The National Resistance Brigades, the armed wing of the DFLP, said twenty-three-year-old fighter Harbi Muhammad Siam was killed during the attack, which was intended to hit Palestinian government security forces.

The Interior Ministry in the de facto government of the Gaza Strip condemned what it views as an unjustified attack. The government said the role of the police and security forces is to maintain internal security, not to fight Israeli forces.

Four Palestinians were killed when Israeli warplanes attacked a Gaza Police Station on Tuesday.

The Interior Ministry also said that Israeli attacks would not prevent the government from "working hard to provide security for Palestinians."
