Israeli Occupation Forces Injure 8 Palestinians and a Japanese journalist, Kidnap 16, Terrorize West Bank Cities

Nine injured, including Japanese journalist; four kidnapped at Bil'in demonstration

Nine people were injured and four others kidnapped by Israeli occupation forces during the weekly demonstration against the separation wall in Bil'in, near Ramallah in the central West Bank on Friday.

Local residents, foreign peace and some residents from neighbouring villages gathered for the demonstration.

A high-ranking French delegation including politicians and mayors from French cities also attended the demonstration, including the head of the European left wing party Francis Meriros and head of the French-Palestinian twinning programme, Ferno Tweil.

Palestinian Legislative Council members Jihad Tumalie and Muheeb Awwad accompanied the French delegation.

The visitors listened to a detailed illustration about Bil'in's three-year resistance to the separation wall. PLC member Muheeb Awwad delivered a speech about the impact of the wall on the West Bank and how it impedes the establishment of a Palestinian independent state.

As the rally came close to the separation wall, Israeli forces fired on the demonstrators with rubber-coated bullets and tear gas. Nine people were injured, including a Japanese journalist, and Palestinian photojournalist Muheeb Barghouthi who works for the Al-Hayat Al-Jadida newspaper and dozens of others suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.

Four of the demonstrators were arrested, including one Israeli and one American peace activist. The Israeli soldiers allegedly beat the arrestees.

Israeli occupation undercover force kidnap two in Bethlehem

Bethlehem – Ma'an – 

An undercover Israeli occupation force kidnapped two Palestinians from Bethlehem in the southern West Bank on Thursday evening, their relatives told Ma'an.

According to their families, an Israeli undercover unit took twenty-seven-year-old Adel Nawawra and twenty-nine-year-old Ayish Nawawra to an unknown destination.

Bethlehem – Ma'an – 

Israeli occupation forces kidnapped four Palestinians in the West Bank on Friday morning, Palestinian security sources told Ma'an.

The sources added that an Israeli force stormed the Deheisha refugee camp south of Bethlehem and arrested twenty-five-year-old Tariq Al-Afandi.

Another Israeli occupation force kidnapped an unnamed Palestinian in Beit Fajjar, also south of Bethlehem.

In the Hebron district in the southern West Bank, two other Palestinians were arrested, the Palestinian security sources added.

Israeli occupation forces storm northern and central West Bank

Israeli military forces on Friday morning invaded the northern West Bank city of Nablus and the central West Bank city of al-Bireh, Palestinian security sources have reported.

In Nablus, a large number of Israeli troops invaded the eastern neighborhood of the city and the Balata refugee camp. No kidnappings were reported.

In al-Bireh, located near the central West Bank city of Ramallah, Israeli troops established a flying checkpoint on one of the main roads. Again, no kidnappings were reported.

IOF troops kidnap six Hamas supporters and Abbas's militia kidnap 9 others

BETHLEHEM, RAMALLAH, (PIC)-- 

IOF troops kidnapped six Hamas supporters in Bethlehem and Abbas's militias kidnapped nine others in various parts of the West Bank.

Amongst those kidnapped by the IOF are two Hamas leaders; Dr. Ghassan Hermas (52 years) who works as a lecturer at the Jerusalem Open University and Sheikh Hasan al-Wardian (53 years).

Four more Hamas supporters were kidnapped from the Bethlehem district by the IOF troops, one of them at a road block while returning from work in Ramallah.

For its part, Abbas's militia kidnapped on Thursday 9 supporters of Hamas in the districts of Nablus, Tulkarem and al-Khalil.

In the Nablus district, the militia kidnapped three Palestinians from Asira al-Shamaleyya, one from the village of Salem and one from the Askar refugee camp.

In Tulkarem district two Palestinian were kidnapped, one of them for the second time.

Two more Palestinians were kidnapped by Abbas's militia in al-Khalil district.

The family of one of Abbs's hostages complained that their son has been subjected to rounds of torture in the Junaid detention centre in Nablus which was recently visited by the US security coordinator Keith Dayton.
