Abbas Cancels Meeting With Olmert for Israeli Rejection of Four Palestinian Demands Abbas - Olmert meeting cancelled Date: 06 / 06 / 2007 Time: 15:32 Olmert (MaanImages) Ramallah - Ma'an - Palestinian and Israeli sources confirmed on Wednesday that the meeting between Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert will not be held on Thursday as planned. Palestinian foreign minister, Ziad Abu Amr, said that Abbas is reluctant to meet Olmert because Israel rejected the four Palestinian demands, which Abbas had intended to present to Olmert. Ma'an's correspondent reported that Abu Amr said that Israel refused the Palestinian demands regarding the mutual and comprehensive truce and the foundation of an area on Gaza beach, in addition to the release of tax revenues and Palestinian officials in Israeli jails; including ministers and PLC members. In the same regard, Nabil Abu Amr said that the meeting was postponed as the preparations and other measures were not completed, he said that it will be held when preparations are completed. Israeli radio reported from sources in Olmert's office that the meeting was postponed due to a Palestinian request.
