Hamas: Any international forces deployed in Gaza will be treated as an occupation force

Hamas PLC member, Yahia Moussa, has stated that the Hamas movement will treat any international forces sent to the Gaza Strip as "an occupation force".

The elected lawmaker expressed astonishment at calls to deploy international forces into the strip. During a speech to masses of people participating in Friday prayer in Khan Younis refugee camp, he stated that "any solution will be through political channels, on the basis of what has been agreed between the factions".

The spokesman for the Hamas bloc in the PLC, Salah Bardawil, declared that "what happened in the strip was upon the will of the Palestinian people… Abu Mazen [President Abbas] has lost his legitimacy, after dealing with the enemies."
