Israeli Leader Efraim Sneh: "Israel will not supply the needs of Hamastan"

Israeli member of Knesset and deputy minister of defence, Efraim Sneh, said that Israel will not besiege Gaza, but will also not offer any support to Haniyeh or distribute food in the strip.

Sneh told Israeli TV that Israel will allow humanitarian aid organisations to supply the strip with food, water, medicine and electricity. But, he said, "Israel will not supply the needs of Hamastan."

At the same time Sneh refused to comment about fuel supply in the Gaza Strip. Gas in Gaza is supplied by one Israeli company, Dor Alon. Heads of the organisation have recently commented that they will reduce fuel supply in the wake of Hamas seizing control over the strip. However, Dor Alon later commented that it will continue to serve the fuel needs of Gaza. The organisation would be set to lose millions of dollars worth of revenue, should it cease supply to Gaza.

Al Jazeera satellite channel broadcast an interview with Hamas leader, Mahmoud Zahhar, in which he assured the citizens of Gaza that all the crossings will be reopened and everything will be fine.
