Gaza violence spreads to the West Bank as Fateh wreak revenge on Hamas

Nablus – Ma'an – 

A Hamas activist was killed by Fateh fighters, east of the West Bank city of Nablus, on Thursday night.

Medical sources identified the deceased as 32-year-old, Anis As Sallous. The medical sources added that As Sallous arrived at hospital with bullets in several areas of his body, including his head, chest and legs. He died shortly after arriving at hospital.

Another young Hamas activist, Rami Al Khafash, was injured by unknown gunmen, in 'Askar refugee camp, east of Nablus.

The Fateh-affiliated Al Aqsa Brigades announced that they murdered Anis As Sallous, after abducting him in Nablus. The brigades said that the operation is revenge for the assassination of the leading Fatah fighter, Samih Al Madhoun, by Hamas in Gaza.

Gaza bloodshed spreads to Tulkarem

The northern West Bank city of Tulkarem has experienced the spread of chaos from Gaza to the West Bank as gunmen were deployed in the streets of the city. Ma'an's correspondent reported that many societies affiliated to Hamas were attacked and fired at by masked gunmen.

The Al-Aqsa Brigades raided a Hamas office in the city and shot arbitrarily, before destroying the contents of the office and incinerating the building.

In a separate incident, the home of Hamas activist, Issam Hamed, east of Tulkarem, was invaded by gunmen, but no casualties were reported.

Fighters also fired at a local society in Iktaba village, northeast of Tulkarem, and Az Zakka Hospital in central Tulkarem.

Combatants abducted Osama Ghanem, after attacking his supermarket. He was taken to an unknown destination, west of Tulkarem.

In addition, gunmen fired at two buses belonging to Al-Esara School, in Tulkarem, on Thursday night.

Also in Tulkarem, gunmen abducted Muhammad Masharqa from Nur Shams refugee camp, besieged several homes in the camp and set fire to Al-Afaf charitable society, as well as some furniture shops.

On Thursday night, demonstrators drove through the streets of Tulkarem professing support for President Abbas in announcing a state of emergency and dissolving the government.

Ma'an's correspondent spoke to a local Fateh militant who told him that "these events reflect Hamas' attacks in Gaza."

63 assaults on Hamas affiliates

Sources from Hamas said on Friday that attacks on the movement's members and institutions in the West Bank over the past 24 hours have numbered 63.

Hamas accused the Palestinian security services in the central West Bank city of Ramallah of arresting five Hamas members from Al Ama'ari refugee camp. The arrestees were named as, Nihad 'Ulayyan, Muhammad Shubeilah, Ayman Shubeilah, Suhayb 'Urabi and Muhammad Masharqa.

Unidentified gunmen attacked the scientific medical society in Biddya village, near the northern West Bank city of Salfit. Unknown gunmen also abducted four Hamas members from Salfit and Biddya.

In Jenin, also in the north, unknown assailants incinerated the Al-Quds centre for photography, the An Nur press centre and the Al-Issra' press house, all of which are affiliated to Hamas.

In the northern West Bank city of Nablus, the main armed wing of Fateh, the Al-Aqsa Brigades, announced that the broke into the office of the Hamas-affiliated Sana TV station and confiscated its properties, before closing it down.

Hamas sources claimed that gunmen ransacked Hamas-affiliated institutions in Nablus and demolished the offices of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) members of Hamas 'change and reform' bloc, before setting it ablaze.

Hamas also reported several incidents of attacks on their members and institutions in Tulkarem.
